I created my Subscribestar page two days ago, and they sent me an email yesterday, telling me that they didn't find any presence of my content online. I emailed them back and explained that I was waiting for the page to be approved and that I have the game ready and uploaded on various sites(Like mega, Pixeldrain etc). I also sent them links to the game.

Now, I'm unsure if I should post my game before the page gets confirmed. Many people here, through their experiences, have suggested that it's better to build your fanbase first, and then they will get you approved. Since they replied so quickly, I will wait for them for a day.

Patreon has a new age confirmation rule where you have to take a photo of yourself and a photo of your ID. I think that it's extremely ridiculous, so that's why I'm not going for Patreon.

I'm still waiting for their reply, but to tell you the truth I don't think that they will answer. I have sent another message just in case they didn't get the last one but no answer.

On Patreon you get your page confirmed just by setting up your page and not even uploading your game or having any other sites that feature your game. In SubscribeStar's case, from what I've heard they get you approved if you have some decent amount of audience. Personally I don't think that's the case because they messaged me just a day after setting up my page but I could be wrong.

All I can say to you is that I am in the same boat as you. I don't know a thing and can't say anything for certain. If the days go by and they still don't respond I guess I will upload my game while the page is under review. Maybe this will speed up the process. I don't know.

I heard from another thread that had a similar problem and they said that if a creator that has a Subscribe page approved sent a message to their email then this will speed up the process. But again, I could be wrong.

liberapay and fanbox are also an option, but I don't know if it has everything you all need :/. Since you need it asap, this is worth considering

Ko-fi and buymeacoffee are some temporary options that are unreliable because your page can be removed eventually, but it can last especially without a large audience. On Patreon you don't have to provide an ID when you start, it's only when they feel like checking your account so that's another temporary option. They all risk freezing your funds I am guessing.


Crypto is an option if you don't need a paywall,
but it's not very approachable for audiences. People won't donate to crypto as much. Cashapp is also an option without a paywall, should be more approachable than crypto and only requires a phone number. Despite prohibing nsfw, it's said online that they rarely enforce the rule.

They informed me that I can't post images, videos, or audio of sexual content on the public tier, and I needed to remove them. They also mentioned that I needed to fix my tier deals because in one tier deal I had sneak peek images and they didn't want that either (I don't know why by the way, anything they asked me to do didn't make any sense and yes they asked me to remove nude images while my page was for people 18+). The second email was that they needed ID confirmation

For the age verification it is said in their FAQ on their website: :

But I've got an alternative idea. While re-reading their rules I noticed that they need age verification only when you post nudity and sexual acts on your page. So, if I remove all the nudity from my Patreon page they wouldn't need age verification anymore. So yeah I will try to make a Patreon page temporarily until SubscribeStar decides to give me a reply.

I think you should try this if it doesn't hurt, let me know how it goes

I had seen people post sexy images on Patreon without an issue though. I guess there's a line, where you can post bikini pictures but you can't for example post people nude for free. Or an image that's too sexual. Basically, you can only post softcore porn for people on the free tier.

Now they have the audacity to ask for not only my ID but also an extra selfie of my face. This information is stored in their data and they say 'Don't worry we will not use this information for any other reason it's just to confirm that you are of legal age.' We live in a world where everything is leaked. What tells me that I don't suddenly I see my face holding my ID on the internet? Maybe I'm paranoid about this but don't forget that the ones who confirm that you are of legal age are real people and people do dumb things.

And besides I'm sexy as fuck how do I know that the person looking at my photo won't save my image for a personal use

I was meaning to ask that to AdultSpice since they are very privacy conscious, but I forgot as I typed my response. This is a big reason I don't use Patreon or why I would struggle to test these things.

You can lie based on what I read, but if they ask to verify your identity it's game over. You can't verify your identity since the name you gave them is different from what's on your ID. If you can't fake your name, the only way is to work around having to provide your name which is probably not possible.

Unlike you guys, I have nothing to show for yet and no reason to compromise, so I'll create my patreon if enough people are interested to justify it. If you're working on a project I don't see the harm of putting a Patreon page, you don't have to set many tiers and deals just make a 1$ deal or 2$ deal and leave it there for anyone who want's to support you. There are many creators on this site that have no patreon or subscribestar account and many users asking if they will make one
