For a game that has an option to control the minds of those around you, I wish there was more applications of that function. the only times where you can use the mind control function is as a stepping stone to use the transferring bodies function.

Yes, you can unlock the galleries by setting
persistent.unlock_galleries = True via the command console (Shift+O, "O" as in Ozone or OK) and restarting the game.
