Ah... Finally. This day has come and I can't be anymore happy. I mean, finally a lot of patreon hacks will go down with 2 possible endings: They either comply and make the game "safe", leading to money bleeding and exposing themselves as monkeys who dance for money, or they try to look for an nonexistent alternative, or at least one that made their livehood a heaven for what? 3 pics and spaghetti code monthly? They can all burn in hell, but it would be actually surprising if they can finish the games with a lot less support. I know they can, but they hold back and made impossible promises because that money milk is really sweet.
My only problem is that things like cuckolding are safe, because, you know, it's consensual. The patreon staff can't prohibit what they get off to, after all.

But that's taking a lot of good or at the very least sincere Patreon devs with it.
I really don't get this stance, do you think any market/scene starts out with everyone putting out great content? Of course cheap fucks riding in the newest trend will show up, but still there's more people who legitimately wanted to make games and couldn't because they can't just take the time to make it neglecting their income who can do so because of Patreon.
Also most of the really bad, money grubbing devs you talk about don't make enough money to "make their livelyhood a heaven". Some do, but still you think two or three faggots completely invalidate Patreon as a whole?
Seriously why do you think Patreon being gone for porn games will make the scene improve?

He doesn't have a patreon and yet he is able to diligently work in his game in his free time. Right now the game has a lot of content compared to 2 years ago. Not the best game ever, but is an honest too good game and a good parody of monster rancher, even if most things are stock. That's because this guy loves what he does, and he doesn't ask for money to make it. There's a tip jar, though. Yes, it have been 2 years and it's not close to completion, but you can say the same about a handful of games that earn a lot of money.
It would be nice if all the devs were like that, but alas, Patreon exist and there are dozens of games that don't go past proof of concept no matter how much money they do, which is simply an scam to get a lot of money the easy way.
You know what my problem is? This scene is rotten, filled with stupid people incapable of thinking by themselves and praising every piece of turd just because it panders to [specific fetish that nobody likes], so they toss money to everything only because they can, which doesn't really improve the quality, after all half those games are DAZ studio untalented stuff. With patreon gone, there's no goldmine, suckers will leave and porn games can finally go back to be a work of autism and passion, not a corporate work that wants and fail to please everyone, which is surprising considering how brain dead their followers are.
I have to agree to an extent with what you say there are many "games" out there that have support and are outright milking but also there are a few games that are actually quite decent one of those is "The Twist" which is my personal favorite. But yeah there are many games like dating my daughter that are just pathetic... or big brother and those have HUGE amounts of money thrown at them...

Edit: also no incest in that game. Part of the plot is that the MC is not related too his mom and sister

The twist is decent because it's not just an slide show with DAZ models but actual 3D models interacting with each other. The problem is, they are godawful, they look like spawns of hell, also, the game is so terribly unoptimized that it runs really bad with a decent rig. Honestly, no matter if the game is Jesus' second coming in game format, I don't see why you would need patreon to do it when there are plenty of decent games, as good or even better than the most popular and well paid patreons already existing with a low or even zero budget, that's my point. The models in the twist are really bad and no matter the amount of money you throw at it, that probably will not change.
If you actually like to develop games you will not be hurt at all. You will barely need to find an actual job and you can develop on the side. I still have to find a single good patreon dev, since I don't even trust sex curse and Incestral Awakening is my most desired game so far. I used to like Dark Cookie, but after his last 2 updates, I expect his whole game to fall apart too.

On the one hand it sucks because we're gonna get way less updates, but on the other hand I'm glad a lot of these projects are getting shut down because they sure as hell did not deserve the kind of money they were getting. Fucking 6 figures just by putting in 30 minutes of "work" a week, fuck them
