Sure, but in my day-to-day there's at least a safety net. I have X months notice and unemployment insurance. There's no notice on Patreon, they can just pull the rug out, and I'm fairly certain my insurance isn't going to cover demonetization by Patreon.

well the incest games are niche and not making patreon huge money. like there is only darkcookie at top 50 i can understand why they don't want something as controversial. when people bring that shit in court, it's just extra weight to defend. tho i'm sure people will find a workaround so not a big deal in my opinion.

Sin has one of the best games here, the only problem is that incest and mind control (well, for the new rules) for me this is the same, a Great game, but I believe that Sin keeps the job to the end as He does, with intelligence.
Can someone clarify something for me? Why is incest illegal in so many US states? I mean, what does the state care if two blood related adults want to fuck? I don't see what they gain in having this kind of legistlation and enforcing it.
Also, does that extent to fantasy deciptions of incest, or ist it just other of those "it's not illegal but looks bad for our investors" situations?

Well they mention that stuff like Game of Thrones is OK, and that does featured rape and incest, but it's also not the point of the book either, just there to enhance the story. But you'd be hard pressed to find something like that in your average porn game from Patreon since they are all about sex. They'd probably get away if they'd do it like, let's say, Tsukihime where the porn was not the focus at all, but I'm afraid not nearly enough people would be willing to pay up monthly for a game like that.

for me it is not the blood-relation thing. it's more like the man/woman that was supposed be "the caregiver" MIGHT have manipulated the child into having sexual thoughts about theirselves. children are vulnerable to manipulation and even when they become adults, they can't realize that they were manipulated into having sex with their so called parent.

It's not only States. It's most of the modern countries as well as most civilisations since the beginning of time. It's bad for a society and most of the time it's a criminal act of an adult male against his female family member. More over when it's not criminal it usually consist of people with mental issues which creates more problems. Inbreeding is just bad for people and it's been stigmatized for a long time.
Ok, I get the stuff about incest, rape and so on, as they put it stuff that are real problems on the real world... But why the hell is mind control content a problem? This makes no goddamn sense.
Also this pretty much confirms they can't continue on Patreon at all, if even the public version of the game can't be linked there. People will have to host shit on their own site and have Patreon as an extremely vague funding page, but that pretty much keeps them from doing things like patron-only releases.

And usualluy it's only over generations that inbreeding creates problems. The few isolated freaks who want to get together won't really create a problem, as you said, incest is something frowned upon by society and that most people won't consider. I just don't think the state should concern itself with it.
If the incest is happening due to some kind of abuse, that already falls under other crimes, you don't need a specific one about incest.
I'm not even into incest (don't mind it in games, but that's about it) but I find this whole thing mind numbing.
I'm so tired of this "everything is rape" environment we're in right now.
Also, even if it is, it's a form of rape completely impossible of replicating in real life. Do people want to criminalize impossible thoughts now?
