i really appreciated what the nopy team put together. by far the best download side on the net... i will hope that it will return one day... for now, godspeed nopy. you will be missed.

I miss nopy every day ... it was by far the most easiest and safest download site ... no annoying malware popups, no download limit ... (maybe except for the rare days when they used a tool to push people to donate more money and it repeatedly fucked up the servers with all the additional traffic created ...)
It will be hard to download upcoming releases like BaDIK 8 with ca. 20 GB size without nopy.
I hope nopy comes back one day or there will be a new nopy ...
I wouldn't mind if they advertise well known porn sites to finance servers as long as the ads do not use up all the download speed and the source is reliable and does not spread malware ...

This sucks, NOPY was the only reliable download site I used on here wihout getting bombarded with virus threats
Are there any other good sites apart from MEGA that are reliable? (I would use MEGA but they limit the downloads to 5GB and a total of 15 until you reset your connection) So no big game downloads like How to be a DIK or VWM (the basketball one I forget the name)

Torrents might be the only real feasible option. Even paying for a MEGA sub doesn't mean that uploaders will use it as a source.
I have used alternatives for several days now, and frankly - They are horrible. A few have good download rates, but are sadly not universally used, others have occasional good downloads, but most times have a crawling speed, and others have completely unusable speeds (unless you pay up) or a file size limit (unless you pay up) or both. And in some cases you simply get "you have downloaded already, come back next day", or "too many users, come back later".
I really think Torrents is becoming a viable option very fast, because the alternatives are really not covering the usage needed for the (often) large size of files here. With low speed the download can be measured in hours, or with really large files and a bad file provider even days. It not only hurts the downloaders, but also the creators. If nobody wants to download your new creation, because it simply takes too long then... Well good luck with your creation. A creation that only can be seen by a very few an very, very patient number of downloaders.

Is there any chance that f95zone could take over nopy and bring them back online?
f95 uses banner ads, so they should have some income ... if people no longer can download the shared games, people will visit f95 less often ...
I tried one of the anonymous download sites (anonfile) and the download rate varied between 50 kB and 500 kB /s, so it is almost impossible to download big games. Even a small game with only 250 MB took almost an hour.

Well Nopy server cost are around 6000 $/month. Also the zone itself have also problems with their own donation option, hard to believe that is not from some similare reason than Nopy reason for shutdown.
So, it could, but it depens on at least 2 things:
- Ads needs to bring in more than Nopy and F95 cost each month (6000 $ for Nopy, I assume at least 500 $ for the zone)
- Payment processor are OK with it
I would not bundle them officially ... but maybe they could support each other behind the scenes ... to the public it would be 2 independant sites.
That's just begging for this site to get assaulted and shut down as well. This site is in big danger just providing file links as is. A lot of pirate sites don't even "officially" do that.
Overall torrents are our best option. Especially for games that have a relatively fast release / update schedule. You can absolutely rely on people seeding the last version of something that comes out every couple weeks.

Though at best, I think. For once everyone of the 4.2 millions user could "snitch". Also payment processor, lawyers and law enforcement aren't what I usually would call the public.
Thus and with the old saying "follow the money" - and for what its worth, you can follow crypto money a lot better, because through their concept every transaction is logged - I don't see how that could work...
Also I fear the same as QQP_Purple the only thing that would happen is that both services would be suspended. So I think the best is to use other file sharing service or torrents.
Currently a user provide a lot of torrents and the peak download speed is even higher than what I had with Nopy.

Oh man you'll be missed. Thanks for everything and a gigantic "FUCK YOU" to Visa for their mission to become the final arbiter of what's allowed on the internet.
Such a shame to see you go. Easily the best of your kind with no annoying adds or sketchy popups. For the reason of your demise to not even be due to lack of support, but difficulty with receiving the support is truly sad to see.
F, A shame to see this good site to end, all of my downloads from this site comes from nopy, and most of them are inaccessible right now due to dead links.

I was just starting to really like Nopy. before that had used Mega but then they switched and I could not log in. So when I found Nopy it was faster and easier to use...... Guess Mega is back in the front which is a real shame as it is slower then Nopy was.
