As for the defects...You can find the current statistics.

- 31.4% for death and severe defect (4 data sets)
- 6.8% to 11.2% for significant birth defects
- 1.7% to 2.8% for significant congenital defects
- 4.4% for pre-reproductive mortality
Which is why I said it is a good idea to talk to the doctor.
I wouldn't recommend it personally, but if someone was intent on reproducing, Always consult the doc. It's no different than any other at risk or high risk pregnancy situation in that regard.

Stats are overrated. Risk is a risk. When you sign up for military you increase your chances of getting shot. When you go for incest reproduction you increase chances of fucking up someone's life. First one just effects you, second one effects that person and who interact with him/her. I dont think people should hold such power over someone's life.

I've posted this elsewhere, but it's worth posting again. Patreon's rules regarding incest have nothing, zero, zilch, nada to do with whether incest is legal or not. It is perfectly legal in the United States to create and sell incest-related erotic stories, pornography, movies, etc. Actually, it's perfectly legal in the US to create and share erotic fiction and games--even movies--depicting underage minors having sex (as long as the actors are not underage in real life), although probably unwise to attempt to profit from it in this day and age.
Patreon did not ban and forbid incest because it is illegal. They forbid incest, rape, mind-control, etc, because of pressure from both PayPal and even more so by pressure from the venture capitalist investors who do not want Patreon's "brand" to be associated with taboo content.
And yes, there are many organizations fighting for the rights of adults to enter into consensual incest (consanguinamory). Just google it.
PS, for the record, I'm not big on making incest legal. It's not the "birth defects" reason (which is a myth anyway), but because it just seems likely that, even if two related adults can claim to be entering into a consensual sexual relationship, one of the partners may have "groomed" the other partner (daughter/son, younger sister/brother, etc) while living in the household. Laws forbidding incest protect children. But if two adult siblings are in love and want to spend the rest of their lives together, I'm not going to judge them.

Every pregnancy carries risk. By your logic then, no one should ever get pregnant, because two consenting adults who decide to procreate, have a child that MIGHT have a defect.
My wife and I were told because of her age and weight, that there were risks to her having children. Your logic states that we should never have even tried. I wouldn't have had my 2 sons.

Actually not exactly true. Patreon has gone Nazi on incest content. Most developers are either getting told to remove it, or be banned. Some are doing it voluntarily to prevent getting into trouble.
