Ren'Py - Monster Girl Dreams [v25.9b Alpha] [Threshold]

Great writing and simple but cute relationship stuff unlocked by interacting with characters you like. If you fall into "Gentle female domination / vanilla" categories and enjoy reading (a lot of it) I would recommend this game.

Played on Easy and balance was okay, didn't have to grind for the RPG part. Way more content than I expected, but some characters you wouldn't even know are romanceable. without using the wiki. Support this dev

Simply excellent. A game for lovers of monster girls and rpgs, bringing the Fuck battle genre at its finest. Overall beautiful visuals and fun gameplay. Also surprisingly high overall content, with high replayability. Though it still lacks in the deparment of variety of attacks. Just great overall

Honestly not much to say except its an amazing game 10 outta 10, well written dialogue, characters are interesting and it feels fun to just stumble upon the next enemy and being surprised by their design, what they say, how they act. Wish there were more games like this.

Another game with great running up potential but unfortunately only that of a neatly set up campfire before the rainstorm. I've been following this project for years and was really exited about it at first, however slowly but surely gut just as sad and disappointed as I saw it get abandoned and turned into the exemplary patreon/ subscribestar milking machine that you see oh so many of nowadays.

Monster Girl Dreams did many things right. It has a funny/ silly story that doesn't take itself seriously and manages to provide entertainment value with a combat system that at least has some basic depth. However which is not the advertised battle fuck that one would have in mind. Just because it has skill names and points in the passive tree that has sexual descriptions it won't make the combat "battle fuck". Besides that it does at least work and has at least some amount of balance which in itself is rare in these sorts of games. (Though this is often not the merit of the developers but rather can be credited to the community properly playtesting the product which is more likely the case here as well.)

The thing which was for a long time the carrot on the stick is the art and the "kinetic novel" identity of the game. While you do have some art but forget animations, forget scenes, the only thing this game seemed to muster and even that barely are portraits for its characters. With that after many long years of development the game just hardly manages to fit into the kinetic novel genre based on the amount and variety of its art but would better fit into the text based category which in itself speaks volumes of the dedication of its developers.

The game even managed to grow a small modding community around itself at one point but only for as long as the embers managed to stay alive around it.

Unfortunately matters not how much I like the game itself the concept and the fetish I can't be anything but objective and call the game what it is:

I return to this game every few months and always enjoy what it has to offer. Really nicely balanced sex combat and unique characters that add a lot of flavor to the world. What little art is there is good, but the majority of it is text based and for the most part it doesn't disappoint. Mods give it even more potential. Absolutely recommended for monster girl fans and those who enjoy a deep combat system (thankfully with adjustable difficulty).

There are relatively few porn rpgs that deliver genuinely good gameplay and character progression that stand on their own, and this is one of them.

The game isn't particularly difficult unless you play on hard mode, and most challenges can be overcome by grinding. The grind doesn't feel monotonous because every enemy has porn content. You can choose what encounters to experience when going through a dungeon after the first run. Character progression allows for divergent playstyles that cater towards certain sexual preferences, and has an impressive amount of depth.

Having followed this game on and off for years, the dev has been pretty decent when it comes to supporting it, which is not a forgone conclusion when it comes to these types of games. 10/10 would recommend.

After having sunk about 10 hours in, I think I can say that this is one of my favorite h-games I’ve played. There is some grinding, but it isn’t nearly as bad as some other battle-oriented rpg maker games I’ve played. Most of the repetitive options can be skipped by holding the control key. There is a lot of femdom content with some maledom gameplay, and it really is the best at what it does from my experience. Plus, it is the first game I’ve played that has used findom content in a really great way. Top 3 h-games for me. Recommended for people who like visual novels and femdom. Looking forward to seeing future versions of the game and more content. Although if you’re expecting it, there isn’t any level drain content unfortunately. More item and gameplay-based explicit stuff would be nice to have. Plus, this game has a very good modding community that can make the game better for a player if they want something extra to their tastes.

Fun game, requires a bit of grinding but you can just play it on easy mode if you're not tryna spend time grinding. Sadly the game doesn't really have any h-scenes or a gallery for the few h-scenes it has; most of the sexual stuff happens during battles, but the game's still pretty fun.

My fav game here. Honestly great gameplay, text base choices, and challanges. Really really well hiden gem. Even though I dont like text base games and usually "skip to content" here I enjoyed every minute

Pretty good, pretty detailed. You can do a lot, and see what you want. Lots of foot stuff too, if that's what you're into, but you have to look for it. The only thing is that it is an actual game with challenges that are challenging to overcome. That gets kinda annoying if you just want to see something, but it makes developments significant. I looked up a guide for foot stuff, and it was a bit difficult to understand.

Not much I can say that hasn't already been said, this game ticks very many boxes for me; my only gripe with it is lack of animations and development speed.

that said this is easily a 5/5 for me

Many different flavors of lovable monster girls to tenderly love and pamper or roughly fuck into submission.
The game can get kinda grindy, but at least all combat is sex combat so at least it is much better than RPGM combat

I have completed this game nad have pretty mixed feelings. At one hand it's have nice picture quality and story telling, the dialogs are interesting to read and the combat system is well done. In other hand there is few animations or even sprite chaning, pretty limit amount of action and nothing special in the end. But for good time 4/5. This game can be way better that this so I wish it luck.

2. Originality: This kind of game with monster girls are far from an original topic. But a games focused only in this, and that has so many combat options really deserve the recognition. (5/5)
3. Sound: A few sounds, and a small but actually really smooth soundtrack. Not the best, but it is good. (4/5)
4. Playability: I believe that the only thing that sucks is the fact that the game runs around text only. There is not much animations or CG so you have to actually think about what is happening. BUT, there are so many options that I actually understand why it does not have much CG. The game has a great battle mechanic, so it is actually pretty good. (4/5)
5. Performance: Perfect, no problem at all (5/5)
6. Bugs: With the raw game, not one whatsoever. But some mods are pretty buggy (5/5)
7. +18: The few art the game has is pretty neat. So not gonna lie here. The scenes are 100% changeable to what you want. The only thing I do not like much (my own stuff) is the fact that the game sometimes forces you to submission. (4/5)
8. Amount of content: That are not too much to see, but the stuff made is actually really good. (4/5)

Hard to explain, but I feel on this site I don't need to fully. Long story short, good writing, good art, good mechanics. Hours of content, something for everyone; sub, dom, boob, ass, feet, lips, kink, whatever. Easily something I always come back to when there's a new update. Easily the best Ren'Py game on the site. Fight me.

Pros
+ Very well designed turn based combat gameplay with interesting enemy & boss design, meaningful equipable items and usable items. Nearly all attacks you learn are useful and so far I haven't felt like there are too many. The gameplay has depth and doesn't get repetitive due to enemy variety
+ H-Scenes are text-based but are thoroughly arousing, with good escalation, and satisfying climaxes. If this game had CGs for their scenes or even better yet, animated H-scenes it would be an easy 5/5
+ A lot of content despite being in Alpha
+ Not particularly grindy, unless you want to grind for money or levels
+ Hard mode is actually difficult. Your build does seem to matter, but fortunately you can respec by talking to Elena at the Guild.
+ Interesting world
+ A good Wiki is available

Cons
- Can't check how many relationship points you have with an NPC. This is problem is invisible until you realize that you need to build a certain amount of relationship points to unlock quests and occationally it can affect quest outcomes. Certain interactions can lose relationship points, while some gain. Some interactions only gain relationship points once, others are repeatable. Not being able to see gain loss, and how many relationship points you have so far is inconvenient
- No gallery, but you can revisit scenes by refighting that enemy
- Once you discover a monster's weakness, the game doesn't have a beastiary you can check during combat to refresh your memory

Conclusion
This game is worth trying if you're looking for well designed gameplay with depth or if you enjoy competently written H-scenes. Very good game for the gameplay, I look forward to seeing how it evolves in future updates

this game is a gem, provide same level of entertainment like Monster Girl Quest (monmusu quest). Story are nice, hope it get more exposure, easily provide 10 hour game time or more .

An excelent example of a game I thoroughly enjoyed for a long, long time (one of the games I keep up with a lot, and play through pretty often too). Heavily relying on its writing, and doing a damn good job with it, while having supporting visuals and vfx to compliment said writing, and detailed, deep, unique RPG mechanics. And it's completely free. Hope you already tried it (and kept playing through it), even before finishing to read this paragraph!

I think I have around 1 hour in the game. Probably more, maybe less, I don't know.

What I know for sure is that in all this time, I haven't done anything yet.
The characters just talk, and talk, and talk, and talk never saying anything interesting, I can't even remember what they tried to say at the beginning of a sentence since they are so long.

Even trying to skip them takes minutes! That's way too much.

There is a reason why most text-based games only have two lines.

The art is ok.
The combats... no?

No way to see the enemy's status, so we just fight blind, and sometimes, the reward is to have sex, which put us in ko... Why? We fight to not have orgasms, and the reward is having multiple ones.

Also, the combat is text-based, of course, so you just have a sprite in the middle of your screen and that's it.

Enjoy 10 lines of text describing what's happening while the sprite stays completely static and nothing changes.

Show, don't tell anyone? Well, this game is the complete opposite.
