VN - Ren'Py - Abandoned - Lexi [v0.052] [Chatterbox]

I actually found myself enjoying this game a lot more than I thought I would. I like the MCs sense of humor, the characters are interesting enough that they don't seem bland or clones of other games. Overall I'm excited to see this game progress, not too many lewd scenes at this point but enough to show that the creator can do a great job if he keeps working how he does.

Review as of chapter 2, ep.1

Pros:
+ Good story and dialogues
+ Decent characters (both personality and models)

Cons:
- Sound. Really, just turn it off.
- Sexual content is a bit lacking so far.

In-depth:
It may not be the most amazing game you'll ever play, but for what it is, it's damn good and very competently made. And what it is - is a solid visual novel in the purest sense of the word. No unnecessary complex mechanics, just you, the story and the dialogue choices. Sure, there are stats, but I'm not convinced they even matter yet. We'll see where it goes.

The sound is... let's just say, when the game tells you that it enhances the experience and you should turn it on, don't believe it. Not worth it. In fact, I'd turn it off. It's low quality and rather annoying when present. Except maybe for the movie night. But other than that, not worth it.

The UI is mostly functional, but I really hate it when I want to save and the games ask me to name a save. It's a highly unnecessary extra step. But that's probably the only thing that bothers me about the UI.

There are tiiiny mishaps in the images here and there. Different lighting in the same scene, body clipping through clothes... but these instances are relatively rare and to be honest you may not even notice most of them. I don't think it's a big deal, but I also hope it can be cleaned up before the release.

The characters look nice. And holy shit, this game has an actual child (nothing sexual, don't worry) that doesn't look like a horrible abomination straight out of nightmares! That alone deserves extra credit.
But yeah, the rest of the girls look good too. Expressive faces, varied body types and age groups, pretty close-ups. Well done.

The content overall is a bit lacking, considering the game has been in development for almost 2 years, I believe. There aren't too many sex scenes, and I can't say that the ones we have right now are even that interesting, but they are, for the most part, nicely animated.
However, for how little content this game has, the size is getting a bit out of control. I mean, sure, 5GB isn't that much nowadays, and most people won't even notice it, but you would expect to see a little more from a game this size.
And while we're kinda on topic of development, I must say that I really like the update system they have going on. It's been really convenient not downloading all the files all over again, nor worrying about transferring the saves.

Characters' personalities are... not exactly pleasant, but somewhat realistic. Can't say I care for the wife at all. Unless she's made at least a little likeable later on, I think I'll just drop this path. But the rest grew on me as I was playing. And in huge part because dialogues aren't half bad. There are moments that made me cringe a bit, but for the majority of time, it's a pretty solid read. I definitely enjoyed it.

The choices finally matter. Well, somewhat. The stat gains, obviously, but I'm talking more about the fact that they change the outcome of some scenes and the characters actually remember what you picked later on, even if it was insignificant at that time. I must say, I'm kinda impressed. Well done.

So overall, this is a pretty good visual novel, with very little issues. I definitely recommend checking it out and hope to see more of it in the future.

P.S. If you are here for the lovely scene on the 4th screenshot, with Lexi chained up and in tears - don't get your hopes up, it is, unfortuantely, not that kind of game and this is the extent of that scene.

This is one of the 5 out of 5 games for me. I wasn't expecting to be this heavily invested to the characters. Relationship build up, visuals and sex scenes are all very good.

You can understand the quality when a lot of people -including me- really care about a pure, non-sexual father and daughter relationship in a porn game. So characters are really good and I can't wait to progress with them more.

And I hope there won't be an NTR hate shitshow when we find out the bitchy wife is cheating us.

I really loved this game. The models and renders are excellent. The story is good and unique. I enjoyed the humor. The script is good with very few typos.

I like the dynamic with the wife and the relationship with the daughter. I like the aspect of just going about your day. I enjoy the characters for the most part. Jason is a bit skeezy. I look forward to seeing what's up with him.

There were really only two real issues I had:

Kaylee is pretty much the only character I didn't care much for. I don't hate her, but she's the basic cookie cutter slut that wants to jump your dick the second she meets you. Every game seems to have at least one of those and they tend to get boring.

With a file size of over 4gb I expected the playtime to be much much longer than it was.

I very much look forward to future updates. I hope this game actually gets finished and not abandoned like so many other good ones I've played.

Edit: Sigh. Of course it was abandoned.

10/10 game. Highly enjoyable. Lots of characters, interesting plot, a mature and confident protagonist, lots of choices , great great scenes and a very promising future. Can not wait for future updates.

Good story and very nice composed... I'm just a bit worried about the size of it, 5GB and only 7 days?! I get it, quality animations HD, HQ, and stuff... but seriously, 5GB it's a lot for a story with just 7 days and a few animations...

This review is based on version 0.05 the game have average renders and most of the models are pale except for lexi is model it was done really good the game has a decent amount of content however your decisions in this game does not really matter except for your relations with women so no multi paths or anything like that which can be boring , the bad thing in this game is the story it is really bad and do not make sense the mc is a dishonest person that was banned from his previous job and somehow the family trust him to be lexi is bodyguard, what is more confusing that if he refuse the background checkup which he have a point in it you will get a bad ending, so he must admit he is not someone you can trust but because he said the truth now he can be trusted meh. the story telling in general is slow paced and take time , i think this game can be done way better with some changes to the story and the dialogue between characters and the mc.

A brilliant game. The plot is interesting as opposed to the standard cookie cutter plot we're used to. The graphics are solid. Animations as a bit clunky and I noticed a discernible bit of lag before they started but nothing offputting. Looking forward to future updates.

The file size is an absolute killer though.

One thing of note is this game uses some audio. Nothing major, just the occasional sound bite and one of them is a woman giggling which is creepy as hell when you're sitting with headphones on in a room yourself in silence and suddenly you hear someone giggling.

The story in this game is straightaway excellent. Originality and the quality dominates over being just another one of those games where you get straight to bed without build-up. As of now, not much of sex scenes; but there's a lot of teasing going on. That's probably to make sure you don't end up with blue balls Didn't notice any bugs or grammatical errors. Nothing negative at all about this game. Give it a shot!

This game pulls off all the right moves and offers beautiful renders to go with its quite fascinating story. The game is still early in its development clearly, but the promise and good storytelling clearly shines through already.

I came for PK Lexi & Foxy Friend Chelsea, but I'm staying for Chloe. She misses her daddy! Boo Boo Bear needs happy squeezes too! Fauna knows Laura is "too busy" to have tea with Chloe & BBB.

(Chelsea wishing Chloe was hers cemented the path I'm taking in this game. I eagerly await the next chapter in this story.)

MC is a 30 year old man with regret in his past which is interesting. Working for a wealthy family and becoming better relationship with daughters of the family is main aspect of the game. If you have a day off then you can visit your daughter. After that you can date with your ex-wife or another lady. The game mostly teasing but there is sex scenes if choose the path.

This is one of the best games on here. The renders are high quality. The writing is well written. The story is great. I did not find any bugs. The characters are interesting. It's hard to find anything bad to say about this project.

Ignoring the long break the game has a lot of potential and would love to see more from the developer. Renders are of good quality and the game simple point to click which is my favourite kind ( grinding for hours in a game that is meant to fap is simply not acceptable in my opinion). Decent story line and somewhat unique characters only thing missing is a best friend of the MC.

Update June 2020:
Sometimes you may expect a game updation notification and end up being sad to find the developer is no more . That is the case many of us in this thread. I personally found out while playing Mrdots game and checked it here as i am writing this nothing will change for chatterbox but my man i would have loved to see you finish your work and become a legend like dr pinkcake , mrdots, icstor and others. RIP to a fellow gamer and developer . May god bless you and take care of your family in these hardtimes. Wish we had more time to complete this fine peice of art.

This update (.04) was the first time I played this, and I very much enjoyed it. I read there was a long break but I am glad that its back.

This game has a lot of great things going for it:

- Great characters, I actually enjoyed the dialog/writer. Its better than most games on this site that I have played. I really started liking characters and disliking others.
-Renders are great! Some of the shots of theirs faces were very beautiful. I saw great improvement with the new update and its great to see some one always improving their craft.
-Animations/Scenes towards the end were some of the best I have seen here. I am really glad that the sex scenes were not just one animation and then done. There was effort put in to the scenes with multiple angles. This is what really made me think this game is really one of the elites. Please keep putting scenes like this in the game dev! The only negative was the 1-2 second pauses while switching to the next animation, but I will take those pauses any day for such great scenes. Please don't hold back in future because of this.
-Story was pretty good also, I sense this is going to a very high point in future updates, with a lot of uncover, looking forward to it.

I usually don't post reviews but I thought it was time to start, and what better time than to post a review for a game I really enjoyed. This deserves more support and I'm sure it will get it as time passes and more updates come out.

This game has a lot potential and seems to me like it can be a really good one given enough time. This current version feels very short but it has a lot of charm to it.

Hopefully the updates end up coming out somewhat regularly and keep this amount of quality. The characters seem interesting and all seem to have their own personalities. I really am looking forward to seeing them. The renders are also really great. I feel like this game takes some of the better parts of some other VNs and puts them together into an engaging story.

Definitely would recommend giving this game a go. The premise is interesting and I would love to see how great this game is given a year or two.

Great game, awesome animations, writing is witty and fit the scenes very nicely. Story have nice flow and choices do really matter. I am genuinely impressed and eagerly awaiting the new updates!

I didn't know about giving it 5 stars so soon but this comeback update has been amazing and will hopefully carry on like this going forward.

I thought i'd seen the only adorable kid I was going to see in a game I have a character in but then I met Chloe. I don't know how 2 different games managed to pull off 2 of the most adorable characters i've ever seen but damn if the cute lil things don't tug at the heart strings.

I give that a plus because I have seen kids in other games that are basically shrunken adults with odd heads but some effort in both character model and writing went in here and making a child look believable and super adorable isn't easy.

The second big plus for me was I got to start dating Chelsea who was one of the first characters met when the game originally launched. The soon to be ex wifes friend since they were kids the ex wife screwed her over to start dating the MC when Chelsea told her she was interested in him.

Usually takes far too long to start dating the one I want to make my MC date but this update gave me that and more.

Also showed a side to Sarah we hadn't seen yet. Her husband may think he rules the roost but girl got balls of steel. I really like her character.

Lexi and Kaylee are both great characters so you are sure to have a great read no matter who's route you follow as well as the main story.

The soon to be ex shows her true colours as a money grubber pretty quickly. Now it may be that it's entirely possible to meand things and put that family back together but with how things go down if you let them and comments made in her bio, i'll not be going down that route.

All in all it was a fantastic read and it's great to see it back. Things can only go up from here.

How is possible this game isn't more popular? Is written as good as the most popular games in the site, I mean the characters act and talk like real people instead of some porno cartoons, it actually seems to be written by an adult mature enough to create a story without trying to force everything into a porn scene; there is no rape/natori/underage creepines involved and is actually FUN to play/read the scenes where there is no sex involved. Add the good graphics and there is nothing else you can ask for.
