Let's talk incest, bestiality, and platforms getting the jitters

firstly forgive my english if I make mistakes, I am not a native speaker.

So, a while back I made a post about a game I was making, and its well underway. hopefully I will be able to release soon, but its not coming specially fast since I handle the writing, the art, and of course I am the programmer first and foremost. I also use all my recreational time to make it, since I work full time, and I also have to take precautions that people dont find out what I do, while a guy can get away with making a porn game, it would be as bad as if I starred in a porno myself if word got out to people I know, I already catch a lot of shit for being a programmer and not getting married at a younger age

This is the thing, themes in the game include incest, corrupting a brother and sister twins into having sex, or if you are outright cruel, just forcing them to. It also has the option when expanding to pick between a fetish club or stables early on, while the fetish club offers less than vanilla stuff, assuming you take the perk so you can take much bigger cocks, you can basically suck off, or even fuck horses or other mythical beast.

that brings me to my next point: I have been seeing several platforms try to shut that type of content down asap, and then I heard summertime saga is having to cut incest because they got audited by patreon.

I don't intend to launch with a patreon, or come out the gate begging for money. This is a project of passion for me, and I want to make something that people look back at and think "thats Eclipse, shes the queen of smut, she makes great stuff that anyone can download as long as they are legal age"

I also don't want to compromise on my vision for the game, a game that starts out strong and then quickly devolves into pure, unfiltered degeneracy. I have thought and thought, and regardless of what platform i use to deliver my content, what is the best way to avoid getting shut down?

would a disclaimer work, would a giant sign at the start of the game saying "hey, no one in this game is underage, no one is related, ect ect" work, or would i need to find a way to deliver the content through alternate methods? would I still get shut down if I have a blog section talking about the game, but the game is hosted on a private server?

I need to find a solution because really, I want people to enjoy the stuff I make, and without the risk of potentially getting an account with a following terminated. I have seen blogger and patreon both terminate stuff now, and if I do ever decide to use either of those or even some other website or distribution method, I want to try to lower my chances of getting shut down

There are new sites in the works, I'm waiting for them myself. I'll be releasing the first few updates of my personal game for free on here to give everyone a taste of what the game is. Maybe you could do the same? I have a Patreon as well, but I don't put the incest versions of the game on there. It seems the ones that get into trouble with patreon get reported by someone, and then Patreon makes you change content. I would just wait it out until a better site comes out.

AFAIK only Patreon and maybe Blogger ban incest/bestialty, for most places the only hard line is underage, as long as you put a disclaimer saying everyone is legal and the players must be above 18 or whatever age where they live you should be fine.

Just be sure to remove any personal information from the game files profile pics and such, better safe than sorry if your family/friends are old fashioned.

Then you don't have to worry. You can do whatever you want, as long as it is for free. The problem comes when you start making money off these topics.

that takes care of that I suppose, do they still get butthurt if you keep it hosted on another server?

edit: thanatos post came in right as I posted mine, I suppose I don't need to worry. I still like to think ahead, and prepare for the worse though.

The disclaimer always makes me smile as none of the models are over 18...the graphics in 2000 were so much inferior. Models are meant to depict...well that's a different ball game altogether.
There was a host opened in Brazil I believe, but last time I looked the one person using it had dropped from 5 supporters to 3, and sorry can't even remember the site name.
I've not looked into it as I am not looking to produce anything anytime soon, but are there any Japanese based hosts becasue as I understand it* the two fetishes in the title are actually legal there.
*I've not looked beyond headline info, so there may well be all sorts of caveats.

Well, this isn't relevant to Blue_Eclipse's question, but as an FYI, MakerSupport changed in February to include banning content which even has just text describing bestiality, incest, rape, or child exploitation. There are others, I'm sure.

That would be AdultPledge, and their payment processor, Payza, just got shut down for money laundering. ( )

I have seen a lot of people think that its the site itself thats doing it, but im pretty sure its the credit card company going down on the site itself. If you host that kind of content, even if its technically skirting or not breaking laws, I believe the CC company, say visa or mastercard will threaten to pull their service from the offending party as a whole.

Oh, no. They won't threaten to pull their services. They'll just threaten to charge more. This isn't an ethical decision, it's purely a business decision.

are you certain? I could have sworn I have read articles about them pulling their services from beast related websites, and that its much more likely to happen now because of the current "climate".

Their argument is that porn sites have too many chargebacks, so they have to charge more to make up for that. Sites using their services to sell porn often have to put up yearly deposits to cover this, not to mention the higher fees. If any site has had their services pulled, it was likely because they refused or were unable to pay the higher costs.

Maybe do what Sex Curse did on their , before they posted some "evidence" of incest, they put a patch on and they just put updates on their patreon, no game related news and the game wouldn't work without a patch, so you could have the non-patched game run a vanilla cycle that patreon would agree with, and have the patched game with all your darkest desires

I think that would honestly be the safest bet, is to keep the content patched out, and release a "patched" version that contains the content. I have a skill tree in the game that requires you take perks before you can make use of certain sex scenes, a good example is, no futa unless you agree to futa, you can always "escape" out of a rape. and bestiality requires the animal lover perk. if I turn these tags off, or lock them in the skill tree and then someone else leaks a "uncensored" version, I suppose I would have plausible deniability on my side.

I wonder if you claim the blog or patreon is for you as the developer and not list it as for the game itself, if they would still terminate it, I was thinking that might be a functional second approach.

Their approach seems to be on a very per denounce base, so if you put links on the patreon or advertise it there it may be a problem, because butthurt people always denounce.

I would suggest you FIRST focus on creating your game. As you said yourself, this is a project of passion. It will take awhile before your game will have enough content to where you will want to focus on marketing it. You will be ready to consider the issue of what platforms to market on at THAT point and not before. At this point, you should simply review your options and not worry about it.

I would recommend that you ensure your game programming has checks in place for all the fetishes though. If you go the route of patching later, you will have that ready to mod (or not) as needed.

I think you misunderstand me, I am not discussing this in regards to marketing, I am simply bringing up my concerns about platforms as a whole, because when i release the first build, I will need to deploy it on something, hence blogger. while patreon and blogger are the examples I use, I believe that any platform has the risk of being terminated regardless of if the game is monetized or not for fetishes that companies don't want to be associated with. I am looking into this because I am very close to releasing my first build for play, I just need to expand its content a bit more.

as for the game itself, I definitely appreciate the instructions in regards to making sure all the checks are in place. but its not the first time I have made something. I have programmed it so that when selecting a scene, it checks to see if you meet the requirements for the fetish, corruption, and anything else that may or may not be needed, such as standing with the person, and if you dont, it rerolls you for another scene until it finds one you can do, that's for scenes that come from randomized events. for non random events obviously the option only pops if you meet the requirements and you choose to initiate the scene.

I am not making the game in rpg maker or renpy, and I have put in extensive work to make sure the systems in place do what they are supposed to while minimizing the chance of bugs as a whole. I also extensively proofread the scenes that are available.

for example, when you change an outfit for the player controlled character, it will ALWAYS show the correct outfit during dialogue, with no chance of showing the wrong thing. you would be surprised at the raw amount of time I have put into this.

Edit: corrected my english to make more sense

The other thing you could do if it's purely about letting people know about it and not make any money, is upload it to Mega and/or one of the other hosts and start a thread here.

Regarding payment processors
1) it is them dictating the rules to sites
2) it is all about money - one site I use, paypal out and out refused to touch them because porn. When it was becoming a succesful place paypal came back and said 'ok you can use us', to which the owner told them to do one XD

Perhaps I jumped the gun a bit there. It sounds like you know quite well what you are doing. I stated 'marketing' since quite often placing your game on a platform is just that -- part of marketing your game. How you release your game is part of how you sell and market it. And that is something you should plan out in the long term as part of the process of making the game. There will be places you should consider placing your game on early, and others you should consider doing when it is more developed.
But it sounds like you know that already.
There are plenty of people who jump into releasing .001 versions on patreon. bleh.

Me? I would actually recommend 'releasing' early versions of such games on places such as here. No money, but full of both eager consumers and developers. Build a fan base. Then do it more officially on commercial platforms when you have a bigger game.
But of course, that does depend the size of the first release. Perhaps you already have a good size to start with.
Just food for thought.
