After reading these threads, I've learned that I can't play this game for free due to DRM issues.
Should I buy the Steam or Patreon version, or should I not do anything and save my money?

For me I just following and watching Rob Cram his video showing anything he got from the game and his account on Pornhubs , that'll save my money,you can do the same with me if you like, don't need to spend 36 dollars to get steam key to play closed beta of this game

Save your cum for another game and if you really want to just pay for after when they actually "finish" making the "game".

There's no reason they are gonna remove the demo on steam after launch, although you probably won't get anything for free other than that.
There is only Harem mode. Gallery hasn't been updated in years, even to fix bugs they've introduced, and will be removed in the future (if it hasn't been already: I haven't downloaded the closed beta in a while).
As for whether it will be f2p, who knows? Maybe Helius will do some kind of pick one character free thing but the game has to launch first and I wouldn't put money on that happening.

. Only one month so far but if it goes back into the decline it was in from 2021-3 it'll be interesting to see how he responds. Maybe we'll see the game booted out the door without implementing anything resembling a core gameplay loop but I imagine the result of that would be it getting absolutely eviscerated on Steam.

I always take the data on graphtreon with a grain of salt - both helius and steve posted their Patreon stats before and the trend looked vastly different from the stats on graphtreon. I mean look at steve's graphtreon graph you will only come to the weird conclusion that their earning is butchered on a certain date every month for some reason. Specualtion based on that may end up very misleading.

Its one before. there was one more after, 0.8.2.e its just exterminated lots details. mostly cloths and shoes has been removed in experiences. most scenes lost its charm.
The data on graphtreon is scraped directly from Patreon, it's taken from the below bit on the creators About page:
It is therefore at least as reliable as simply checking the creators page every day. The reason there is seasonality in the data is because most users renew on the same date as an artefact of Patreon's old billing method renewing all subs on the 1st of the month. When comparing between two periods you just do peak to peak.

The slight variance in numbers, and the reason it's smoother, is because Patreon's creator page lets you apply an "Active Members" filter that hides paid members who have cancelled their subscriptions. Graphtreon by comparison will show these members until memberships expire which happens disproportionately around the 1st of each month.
