Just save before each option.
This will work fairly well during the first few scenes, but with each choice you make you accumulate points that will influence later scenes in one direction or another.

a walkthrough is not needed right now, but you should consider making one as the game gets more complex

I agree with this. For me, at the moment there's not much to comment on because we simply have no idea what the game is trying to do, and where it's going to go.

What worries me the most is that the game will be about the patient(s) talking to the therapist about what had happened. This is somewhat a deal-breaker for me because it makes the game to feel like "I'm going to tell you a story, Doc" with us passively as the storyteller. I always feel that the best thing about video game is that it allows you to be the character, living in what is actually happening now to see what will happen next.

It's just the presentation, but I feel a big difference between telling somebody what I did yesterday and actually doing it when it happened yesterday even if the event is one and the same.

I agree, somewhere I posted a similar thought about visual novels, they are not games at that point. For me a game is about choices and the more control you have generally the better the game is. Within reason of course

I really like the short haired girlie from the OP post, wish there was more of her, but all good things come with time.

I didn't read all the psychologist dialog, I started skimming since, when I played, it was past midnight and I wasn't in a reading mood. But a lot of it seems pretty standard from my own sessions and prior work experience in social work with mentally disabled adults. It really depends on why you're there, how "intense" the sessions are. Usually it's a lot of letting the patient talk and honestly adding very little input. For someone who seems as "normal" as the protagonist, it's sometimes just basic conversation, with a bit of advice for their situation. Offering a bit of objective rationale, unbiased outside perspectives.. that sort of thing. Think of a school counselor and it's really not much more than that. Again, at least in my experiences. Intense psychotherapy is saved for those with more debilitating mental issues.

I will be honest, this is not something we ever considered. Obviously it has a lot of story potential. I think it's definitely something we'd poll in the future for to gauge the demand for. Thank you for potential ideas.

We like to think the simplicity of our design is part of the beauty.

You shouldn't really need a walkthrough (though if demand is high enough we may produce one at a later date just to explain how specific variables influence a relationship).

Basically, you want to see all the nice guy scenes, choose option one and when you are given the chance to lie or deceive, don't, stick to the truth. If you want to see all the hard guy scenes, choose option two, and when given a choice, lie and manipulate your ass off.

Or, just choose the dialogue options you like best and let the chips fall where they may.
the demand will always be high, 'cause a lot of people shout WALKTHROUGH first and play the game afterwards... sad, i know, but it's the truth x(.

I think once the game gets a bit more complex (when you said "with each choice you make you accumulate points that will influence later scenes in one direction or another."), a walkthrough would be good not because it's needed to play, but for clarity of how to achieve what, and to know whether there are things missing or not.

One of my pet-peeves about games that give choices and use points system is that often times it's trial-n-error on the player's part which I think is a really dumb design. For example, let's say you are asked to make a choice 4 different times. Each question has 2 choices (A and B), in general people would see at least 2 branches (4x A, or 4x B) but without guide/walkthrough, they won't know if there are other combinations such as 1xA+3xB, 2xA+2xB, or 3xA+1xB. Even after that, they still don't know whether the order of the choices matter or not, are AAAB the same as AABA the same as ABAA the same as BAAA?

A walkthrough could be avoided if there's clarity integrated into the game itself. Let's say you have 2 variables, simply display all the options, but grey-out the ones that cannot be chosen because of not enough points. That way people will know that they missed something and they could see it had they previously chosen different options.

Looks pretty good I think the one I liked the most was the one with the daughter. Jane is smoking hot and it'll be fun to see how much you can raise her rebellion to. Cassie looks smoking hot as well Amanda also looks good. It'll be fun to see where it all goes. Hopefully your not forced to go down one path and what I mean by that is hopefully you can do stuff with each girl and not just go after one of the 3 girls.

The boss girl doesn't look too bad and seems alright.

Monica I'm not too fond of her model but then that's probably because I played a game that used her and in that game she had super huge flabby patties and the only reason I was doing anything with her was because she was needed to progress the story so I spent most of the time spamming past her stuff just to get to the other stuff. It might also be her hair that the model uses. At least with this version she doesn't have super huge flabby patties. So I guess that's a plus.

It most certainly did not.

Very promising game. Too bad it hardly has any content, yet, though. I would expect more content from a 0.3 version, to be honest. But nonetheless, very promising, so far. Keep it up!

Agreed - good mix of different body types (though Monica should maybe be a bit more of a "hard-body" type) and ethnicities, though it's a little weird that the wife didn't show up in the intro.

Then it sounds like this is something we will need to tackle in the future. We aren't adverse to a little extra work if it enhances reader enjoyment.

That is one thing we like about our design, a choice will never be greyed out. The choices change the flavor. So the only thing the points impact is which version of a scene you get. But in theory, you could see all of the available scenes by playing through once and choosing all choice A, and playing it a second time and choosing all choice B.

But if the consensus is that a walkthrough is beneficial, we'll happily put one together in the future. Probably as we develop the beta because right now much can change.

v0.4.1 should be out late Sunday or early Monday if we stay on track.

We'll be including two additional scenes with that release, another character introduction and the next scene for Cassie.

For the record, the term "Flabby Patties" is cracking me up. Never heard it before, but for some reason it has me dying over here.

One thing we are going for is diversity. Diversity in models, characterization and proportions. And the way our story is written, pursuit of one character will not eliminate options with another. Choices with one character may impact certain plotlines, but you'll never be "cut off" for making certain decisions.

And if there are characters you don't like, we have included short circuits in the story so that you can quickly get through a character's part without having to commit. This way you can focus on the characters that interest you the most.
