Well said, Basically why I am creating a game.

Mainly cause I want to see if I can and I am loving doing it. My wife just looks at the boobs of the models and comments. I mean a grown ass man playing with virtual dolls...
Then if I can make some money on the side due to people thinking that i deserve it, then all the better. If it sux then of course I will hear it and not get any donations. That is fine.

As you have said, it's a very niche market. I tried to explain to someone yesterday what i was creating without sounding like a porn director or some sicko.

I have just upgraded my GTX1060 3GB to a GTX1060 6GB as I "need more power Scotty". This is coming out of my own pocket and the game as it's still in it's infancy is not paying for the hardware upgrades.

Have to say, I didn't read most of the OP but there is an easy answer for your question in the title.

Why are there so many bad sex scenes in games? Because most of the games posted on this website are done by amateurs, a lot of the games are their first games. They don't have any writing, animating or even 3D modelling background, they are doing everything from the scratch, it's more of a hobby where they hope to get rich quick but aren't sad if they don't.

I haven't heard any Marc Laidlwas who have turned to erotic games, this is a very niche game market.

If i have any gripe then what i have noticed more and more are higher quality renders in games BUT teh character models are also more and more based on either Max and Lisa from Big Brother or D in DMD games. It's as if people are just using stock DAZ models and not tweaking them to make up their own models ( as much as possible )

I don't know about max, but D is a custom made model. She can't be found default. Anyone who has recreated her in their game has done so on purpose. Same goes for Max's family.

To be honest: I dont give a damn about the actual sex scenes. If I want to fap to visuals i watch porn or do the real thing. The visuals are a means to support whatever the backstory. 2 games I have played most often and still play a lot are Night Games and Free Cities. Free Cities was originaly without any graphics at all and I still consider it one of the best adult games ever made. Night games doesnt show any penetrations at all despite its all about making the opponents cum.

I believe this is actually a generational thing. I personally appreciate well written novel-style games as much as I like games with a good idea behind it. The actual penetration does nothing for me but visuals that simply dont fit the situation at all are much worse for me. One of the best examples of doing it well is actually Teachers pet. There are a few situations where the dev simply doesnt show anything at all but just gives me text. Well done Sir - my brain starts making up the best visuals ever made for that all by myself.

Now, there's only a very selective few that can give satisfying sex scene. Both slider/static and animated sex scene. Now, why is this happening and keep happening ? Are they lacked of watching porn ? Are Daz (for Daz user) limiting this ?

Honey Select (Illusion Poser) games rarely had this problem, because the delicious sex pose already in the game as main asset. But this low quality sex scene are happening, nearly all of them, on games using DAZ asset. WHY ? WHY ? WHY ?

As former pro 3D animator using 3ds Max, I find posing aren't that hard, even though I'm not expert in posing as my specialty is on environment and special effect. So I find it's so weird that many games are failed and keep failing to deliver, at least minimum, satisfying vaginal sex scene. What kind of feed back our beloved developer need ? What kind of helping they require ?

So, what's your thought ? Are you okay with it ?

Right now, we are seeing a boom in new or newish developers, who either lack the experience, creativity, and/or initial money investment power to put together top end things like what you're asking for... I really do believe that it is mostly due to the Gold Rush Fever induced by a lot of these more recent payment systems such as Patreon and other patron websites... Kind of like what has happened in the Streamer universe... Of course, I think it is just a major contributor but not the only culprit...

It really comes down to the artists and/or developers vision for their product, as well as available resources... Plus, not everyone has the same likes and/or dislikes... What you may find to be crap, maybe someone else's Mona Lisa... And that doesn't make anyone else's tastes any better or worse then your own...

In a lot of cases, I think it really comes down to experience and creative ability... With so many new erotic/adult visual novels and games coming out practically every single day, of course the market will be saturated with the good, the bad, and the in-between...

For me personally, it isn't always an issue of complete realism, although it does immensely help... Where I typically get turned off by an erotic scene is based on things like weird clipping, or impossibly long/large penises during oral/penetration scenes, that are doing things either anatomically impossible or defy the laws of physics... Such as during BJ's when the erect penis looks like it should have pierced the back of the woman's skull, or couldn't possibly take that 90 degree turn down her throat, without seriously immense pain and needing to go to the hospital for some needed medical attention right afterwards... Or when it is so impossibly large/long that it would have pierced the woman's insides/lungs, or popped them like a zit because the woman was far too small for it to possibly fit... Or when you see a guys penis is so big in comparison to their body frame, that they would by all means pass out or even die when all that blood leaves their body to make it erect... Or when a women's breasts are so darn large, they should be hunched over most of the time because their backs would be in constant pain... I don't think most men really truly understand the physical impairments that come from overly sized breasts... Or how ridiculous a women looks with a super model body frame yet has super large, if not impossibly large breasts... It's when things go too far outside the scope of reality, that I find them to be a complete turn off if not impossible to even imagine...

It just seems with some artists/developers, their attempt to play into stereotypes that most women always want bigger/longer/wider or that most men want elephant sized breasts on a small woman, and then go overboard with it, that it makes you wonder what their sexual experience actually is... Or wonder if perhaps the exaggeration of TV/Social media has played too big a part in their ideas of what sexual satisfaction/desires actually entails, for the majority of folks... Who really knows, as it just might be creative license...

Overall I think it mostly comes down to skill, experience, personal fetishes, and creative ability on the part of the artist/developer... You can't please everyone, and everyone shouldn't expect to be pleased by everything...

Well, after all reading and understanding people thoughts, probably you can do that in Porn games with donation system or similar. It's your freedom of choice to bear with that mentality. But I grew in a world where there's no such a thing of Newbie or Expert. If your client don't like the final product, you're out from the game, losing reputation and no more project which mean no income. Which mean, in Porn Games community, the majority of "Clients" don't mind of it.

Anyways, I don't really care much anymore of this matter. Only play a very selective few, like for example Summertime Saga and General Practitioner. I already assume that pretty much new games won't be perfect and the community allow it so the new developer instead preparing his/her time and skill before creating a well made game, they just release it before they got everything in check of "Before became a Pro". They know the community lenient to it.

I'm back to normal games since February. Prefer to play normal games or games can be modded with sexy mod like Fall Out 4, than play porn games without real porn content. And this is probably my last comment on this thread. Ciao...
