I disagree. On F95, a game tagged with NTR may mean that within the game a female character that the MC can have sex with may be fucked by a character other than the MC. Exceptions are made for girl on girl fucking though. For example, if within the game you can have sex with your hot neighbor, but that hot neighbor happens to be married and in the game there is a scene where her and her husband have sex, then (for some reason) this may get slapped with the NTR tag. In game terms, any character the MC can have sex with is considered their "property" and if anyone else of the same sex as the MC may fuck those player fuckable character in the game then this would warrant the NTR tag on F95.

The term is used more as a warning about the situation I just mentioned to people who don't like those situations as it is used to flag it for people who enjoy the situations you mentioned. If someone may be offended by the content in the game and the content involves characters besides the MC having sex, then it gets the NTR rating. As an NTR fan I find on this site that I am sifting through many games that are flagged NTR but are absolutely not NTR. The tag is not used for my benefit, it is used for the benefit who want to avoid the content. I'd say creating more particular terms to precisely identify the content in the game could solve the problem and arguments on the forums but I'm not that naive.

I think there are certain subcomponents of certain tags that people enjoy while disliking other subcomponents. In the case of NTR there are some subcomponents that I find appealing and others that I don't. So I play NTR tagged games despite my strong dislike for cuckhold content.

NTR components I like:

NTR components I don't like:
