I agree. When making dark themed games it should be expected to have real negative feedback. That is a fetish/like inside of a fetish/like and each time you break it down the target audience it's smaller and more precise. Just keep focusing on what you like and continue to enjoy making your own games, the rest either will happen or it won't.

you could add a lil bit of rim light if stuff is just too dark so you can both have dark shadows and clarity
