Only for players who don't mind games in which a real good ending is impossible and, no matter what your other choices are, one of the two main girls you romance with will burn alive in an arson - and YOU will be forced to choose which one save and which one let die in the fire... and the surviving one will anyway hold resentment on you for having let her best friend die...

In my path with Rena, that I actually just replayed again a couple days ago, the survivor "Melissa in this case" was a cunt until the very end. lol
Well, I may be wrong. It's been very long since I last played the game after all. But to me, that bitterness from Megan or Melissa in those specific cases you are mentioning has to do more with the fact that the MC cheated on them than with him letting "her best friend die", as ZenoMod put it.

 I can't quite recall any of that happening. Is my memory that bad?

A "happilish" ending is not what I look for in fiction. Particurarly not in "pornoromantic" fiction... -_-

At least one truly good ending should be possible.
I'm not asking for all good endings... But between "all good endings" and "no truly good ending possible" there are a lots of possibilities in between those two extremes.

To practice acceptance of loss and sorrow there's already real life.
In fiction I'm looking for escape, not for worsening my depression.
I think that's what 98% of us is looking for at least in this kind of fiction. For depressing fiction there are specific genres!

Maybe I was the one who couldn't bear the thought that I let a girl I loved and who loved me back burn alive - besides she was the best friend of my future wife  how could I be even moderately happilish with such a remorse in my mind? I would never want to have a child when both my wife and I are in a such horrible mental conditions. That would be unfair for our child to have mentally suffering parents

Maybe you're right. I can forgive myself for cheating, but not for letting one of the girls die so I may have misinterpreted the cause of that bitterness, also because after that forced choice I didn't paid enough attention anymore... So when the girl was angry with me I may have projected onto her the reason for which I was angry with myself.

Well, you should read the games more carefully even if you are angry. No one holds a grudge against the MC for that choice (maybe at the very start one of them says something like 'you should have save her instead of me', but that's all, it's a very simple 'survivor's guilt' mechanism). And it's also very clear that when you and your wife have a baby, you both are in a good mental condition. That's actually what the last part of the game is about, showing how you get help to successfully overcome that trauma. The game was not for you, that's all. No biggie

Yes.
In facts what I wrote started in reply of a post reccomending the game to everyone.

Namely this post:
To whomever hasn't played this yet, I can't recommend it enough. One of my top 5s for sure.
In the very next post, I was just pointing out that this game is not for everyone.

Just to warn that it contains some unavoidable dark themes that many people probably are not expecting to find in this kind of fiction.

This doesn't mean this game is shit. It does mean that it is not for everyone. No biggie, actually.

This is absolutely correct. There is a warning at the start of the game from the author letting people know it might not be for everyone, I just think most people skip over it or ignore it. But it's there for a reason. I think the fact that not everything is kids storybook perfect in this one is why a lot of people rate it so highly - the bad stuff mixed in makes it more relatable and (well, not necessarily realistic, but maybe plausible?).

I get your point though, if you're looking for something to escape from the shittiness in RL, this isn't the one for you. But tbf, I think reading through the authors warning plus the reviews on this site make that pretty clear.

My god Melissa mogs every girl Pink Cake has ever created. Shes so beautiful.
Not really. The character is his creation, sure. The model is , though. She's also my favorite female character in the game by far.
