It was literally updated two days ago. One art task was completed, and four coding tasks were completed. At the same time, six coding tasks were added.

Didn't they say a couple weeks ago it would be about a month? I have middle of July in my head for some reason.I think you may overestimate my knowledge/insight by quite a bit
Looks like they added 6(?) new tasks this week which ate a bit of progress but after all things seemed to have slowed down quite a bit. 1 month ago I'd have though that the release may be within the next 7 days but I guess we'll have to wait another 3 to 4 weeks now.

The progress bar went from 72% to 75% in 4-5 hours. I guess if the team keeps this pace, we will likely get the update around early July.

I would just wait since it will be less than 1 month for the next up date and we will not know if they do until it comes out.

NO. They won't. Don't expect it before Jenny's update: they won't be because Aunt Diane's and Jenny's quests need to be re-encoded.

I think I found a bug. I go to June, and she successfully removes the Faptic Engine. I let her keep the rest of the controller since I don't need it anymore. When I got to the science teacher, she is too busy. I look in my backpack, and there's nothing. Erik can speak during mid-day, and we talk about the Master Blaster that's in the treehouse, but I've already gone there since the first time to grab it, so now it's gone. Somehow the Faptic Engine vanished, and I cannot resurrect the sequence with June again. It anybody knows how I can inject the Faptic Engine in my inventory again, I might be able to continue. Thanks!
In other news, I'm seriously impressed by this game. I applaud the artist and of course the scriptwriter. It might be my best game yet for a team build. I didn't know Ren'Py could do side-scrolling and other tricks that this game exploits. Really cool!

If the re-encoding is being done for Roxxy's update (as they previously stated), there is no reason that saves from 0.16 to 0.17 shouldn't work.

So, tell me, why saves from 0.15 to 0.16 didn't work? The problem are the old-coded parts of the game. Roxxy's update is all brand new.
Dude, I just told you what DC told: old saves won't work because of the old code. They need to re-encode everything.

I think it's just a matter of information/timing. DC said for quite a while that Roxxy's update would be the first one compatible and thus 0.16 saves would be usable in 0.17. So I guess back then he planned to recode their stories without actually changing them (as they did with Eric's story, etc.) but now he seems to have changed his mind and wants to include the recode in the respective update. So in the end he decided to save some time for the recode at the expense of ~6 months more without save game compatibilty.

I think he told it before the Patreon affair and the whole rescheduling of the game's roadmap.
The point is that Aunt Diane's and Jenny's stories (old code parts) desperately need to be re-encoded because they are conflicting with Mom/Debbie's (new code part). So, they need to re-encode these parts.
Anyway, old saves won't work until Jenny's update (0.18).

As far as I'm aware he actually said it until he was sure that he would continue working on Jenny and Diane (which was when he polled about who will get 0.17/0.18 in early may).
Yes, they need to be recoded but I'm pretty sure until may his plan was to recode both of them in the background without adding to their story as they did with for example Eric/Mrs. Johnson/June (dogeek streamed some of that back then). I mean it's not like they have to have an update to rework the code, it's just more convenient I'd guess.
