Also this pretty much confirms they can't continue on Patreon at all, if even the public version of the game can't be linked there. People will have to host shit on their own site and have Patreon as an extremely vague funding page, but that pretty much keeps them from doing things like patron-only releases.

No, I think your patron only posts are safe. Personally, I'm removing all links to my public version on my page and putting them in a patron only post and hoping that my public versions will get distributed here and various other forums and places not so draconian.

Yeah but not everyone is aware of places like this. By removing your public free version, your game is basically stopping being free to be behind a donation paywall.
You can create a website for posting public builds, or a itch.io page I guess.

Looks pretty bad, but:

I think it basically means: None of this stuff can be visible to someone who's not pledging. Good in the short-term, because it means that for now, things can continue more or less as they were.

I worry that it's not sustainable in the long-term, though. Sooner or later, someone who wants to play adult games, but is MORALLY OUTRAGED by the 'cest, is going to pledge to some game they thought was just good old fuckin', and complain. How Patreon reacts to those complaints will determine whether this whole shebang remains viable.

And usualluy it's only over generations that inbreeding creates problems. The few isolated freaks who want to get together won't really create a problem, as you said, incest is something frowned upon by society and that most people won't consider. I just don't think the state should concern itself with it.

If the incest is happening due to some kind of abuse, that already falls under other crimes, you don't need a specific one about incest.
I'm not even into incest (don't mind it in games, but that's about it) but I find this whole thing mind numbing.

The problem is that a couple of freaks might create a children unintentionally and it's already affected. Freaks after freaks and you have generation. But I think the main problem is how highly criminal it is. Allowing it among adults might affect children as well. Uncle/father/brother feels "love" toward his family member basically abusing/raping her cuz when she'll be older they will get married. It's probably a common thing among those adults that female is often a victim, mentally abused to feel attraction toward her family member. I don't really care about incest. I'm not into it but I don't find it wrong in games. In real life it's pretty damn disgusting in my opinion and I can easily understand why people find it off putting.

Already have an itch.io page and will be setting up a blog page because I'm shit at designing websites. At least places like this are actually fucking searchable, unlike my Patreon page.

So banning incest is in their words discrimination against adult, consenting people, no matter if they planned to have a kid or not. Another case of the government "knowing what's best" for everyone. Just look around, every government bans something because not only some people think they know whats better for others, they also want to enforce, or enforce it.

Oh and even more on topic than those "real life" laws, fiction should be left alone, in every regard.

). Basically, the deeper you go on the top, the more adult content take the advantage. So, even if they represent only 20% of the accounts on Patreon, they probably represent around 40% in terms of bankable accounts ; and so in terms of people who potentially come to the site, then later discover other people to patreons.
Because here is the real deal. Lets say that I'm patreon for 4 adult accounts and a single regular one. Will I really stay for the regular one when the four others has disappeared or gone somewhere else ? The answer is, "probably not", so loosing the adult accounts mean a bigger loose than just the income of these accounts.

There will be drama for yet few days, but at the end they can't really afford to loose 20% of their income ; they expect more than $7 millions for 2018, it's a loose of at least $1.5 million ! They just raised $60 millions, I'm pretty sure that the companies which gave them would not be happy in this case.
So the adult accounts will stay, but they'll have more difficulty to find new patreons. And for the people who don't have an account yet, I think it's just dead now. The community will spread the word, but they'll need to come to us in first intent. This just because finding them by ourselves is now impossible unless the game is available somewhere else at least once.

I don't agree with discrimination. Real-life incest stories most of the time consist of a teenager girl that was abused and her later mental state when she's admitting her "love" is an effect of her previous traumathic experiences while guys are strictly mental. Such people require psychological help rather than acceptance. But that's just my opinion. Let's stop it here as it's not a thread for that.
