I see 16.4 is out so thought i would try again. windows version. windows 10. again I get sound but black screen. and still i can play version 14.1. i wish someone could give me an idea of what the problem is...

No, all paths lead to the same path in the current rework.
Reinstall your RTP. Other than that it might be an issue with the shader they are using.

I noticed after doing one of the mission for the Expelled Librarian he gives you a Ruby gemstone, and also mentions about a Topaz stone (its a reward system from the Library, based on the topic and the level of writing for said topic) and when you read the pillars one says about a red stone, the other a blue stone. After I got the Ruby stone I tried to put into the right side pillar but I couldn't. But I'm thinking these two quests are linked to solving the pillar and sealing the demon back to his world!the tablet is in the cave where the monster is, south of the gipsy camp. Need 20+ defiance to avoid the bad end scene. Still trying to figure out how to put gemstone in it though
The thing that really sucks and is kill'in any game progress is due to missing out on Rathepike its really hampering any chance to get anywhere in the current overhauled version.

* Added a fast travel system to Valos to address complaints that the map is too hard to navigate.
* Credits room added back to the Gallery.
* Disabled the new drunk and exhausted update due to complaints the slow speed makes it unplayable. Going to tweak the script a bit.
* Fixed the Broken Stone Tablet not being usable from the Menu (Call Of The Deep quest).
* Some tile access issues in Fallwater corrected.

The biggest issue I ran into and before reading the 0.16.4 change log (all tho it really didn't mention this) when you go to do the Rangers or Join the Rangers the other quests are skipped and CLaire is told to go into Chemont and take care of the wolves bothering the locals. I didn't even get the Rambling Rose quest in order to prove Claire has what it takes to be a member.
The change log mentions about doing the Feirfelt manor (expelled librarian) and the Rangers. I did go thru the Feirfelt quest line before ever going to the Rangers. So you may want to join the Rangers and at least get to the quest line for Chemont before bothering with the Expelled Librarian.

Actually you just need to place a wedge between her and Lawrence. Give her the book about authority or anarchy, some a name. Tell her Lawrence spoils her. I think refusing to call her Esther counts because it's something Lawrence wouldnt like. Basically, when given choices, tell her something Lawrence wouldnt like or what gives her self confidence.

Just a thing : if the character has both high depravity and intrigue (some kind of lewd assassin), does it open options for both?
Or are you stuck in a route?
