Also, why would you want to delete the side-scroller game, and be lost to time? It was such a good prototype... I still play it sometimes.
Because it's indicative of something that is no longer in the immediate scope of development (no, the idea is not scrapped) and some people do not\refuse to understand that it's not going to happen any time soon, this in turn generates requests for it and every time we have to explain this stuff and suffer from rants.

TLDR it's old shit that creates confusion and unrealistic expectations, expecially in sites like this.

honestly if the demo is as good as you say it is and the game ends up having mod support
really nothing to worry about for anyone here cus take games like skyrim for example a game with a good skeleton that modders took and completely lewded into a porn game

I would rather have the other aspects enhancing the porn rather than the porn enhancing the other stuff. But that is mostly preference, and I have not donated so I won't try and argue that he should do it that way.

[...]

I am of the belief that as soon as you take compensation, you are beholden to the one paying. And while you shouldn't just do everything they say (since they can be wrong when it comes to your area of expertise), you should at least provide the best product or service you can for them to fulfill the original promise and arrangement you made. Simply changing it because you "want to do something else" isn't okay. Because you have now, quite literally, scammed every single person who donated towards you to fulfill the original promise.

[...]
The first point is why there is a very vocal minority that harasses Matto, entitled people that want mainly porn and can't take no for an answer, not you, mind that, people who DM in Discord or stuff, it has happened even for people who are not supporting and that's fucking mental.

The second point is where I tell you "welcome to open crowdfunded development, where you are not obliged to do anything and if you pitch in a prototype be ready to have that prototype evolve, not necessarily in a way you completely agree upon :D".

Jokes aside, unpopular opinion, reality check: a "patron", on whatever platform, supports the development of a project, this means that they're supposedly in for the ride which is something that many people don't understand, it's not, by default, a preorder of a complete upcoming already determined product.
Patrons should not feel entitled to interfere with the development practices or the project's vision...and they can leave, any time, no questions asked.

Sure. But there is also a line between someone failing to deliver a product because of XYZ reason, and or because the one you're sponsoring sucks your money out and runs away at last second: A scammer.

Look at HW, you can't exactly claim that the people who invested in him "got unlucky", same with Pure Onyx or other scam game #57.

A normal game company would get sued to shit for pulling the stuff they do. And, that's why I've mentioned accountability so much in the comments I've made. Because its so important to be on the lookout for potential scammers and calling them out. Or developers who can't be relied upon to deliver on what they've promised.

As said, game looks good. And it sucks Matey has to deal with entitled people. Most of the stuff I am saying are just personal beliefs of where success or failure lie, as well as theorizing. I strongly believe Matey would find more success by going full porn or no porn at all rather than tip-toeing in the middle. Because you'd end up with a product that would only gain the limitations that porn games have while not getting the support of the porn game audience because of subpar porn content (I can't comment on whether it would be subpar or not because of the current stage of development. I am merely guessing from what would be possible in a reasonable amount of time).

Game looks amazing so far. And there is a great likelihood I'll buy it. But I am mostly invested because veering more towards the porn would set a new standard that could and would change the H-game industry as we see it. And that's something I'd (personally) like to see. The game failing due to tip-toeing would not let that come to fruition, which would hurt paying and non-paying people. It would suck to see it not reach the potential it could.

The current strategy of keeping the porn as DLC/Mod could work. Giving tools to help mod it would greatly expand the possibilities. But you'd have to catch one of the audiences (H-game playing or non H-game playing people) to actually make that a reality.

Best of luck.

And that's absolutely spot on, there have been quite a lot of scams or throwaway projects in the past years, this contributed to the current state of affairs where if a project is deemed "too ambitious", it's automatically branded a scam.
The problem here is people not even giving the game a chance to exist, or people that starts throwing hands at the first speed-bump...even when the dev has been consistent with the bi-monthly updates for the past years.

For the rest, we'll see in the future how things turn out.

TL;DR
Don't brand anything "scam" until it turns into one :geek:
On the other side: people have right to be suspicious about such stuff cause of precedents.
