Honestly I did dislike it at first not the relationship aspect but because I don't really like to have lewd scenes come quickly without getting to know the LI a bit first to see if I like them. Even then sometimes I actually want to get to know them first a bit too it depends on the LI if I like quick and easy lewd scenes or not. Unless it's a manwhore save or something. But once I realized the lewd scenes at the start was to showcase the friends with benefits relationship a bit better I didn't mind it anymore, tho it did take me a bit to realize that. So on my first playthrough I didn't like Alex as much as I did on my 2nd playthrough because of that. However I never dumped Alex because of this on my first and 2nd playthroughs I just legit liked Isa more . Getting into someone with a already established life and a past, is troublesome for people that have low levels of empathy, or, even if they do have "average" levels they were never stimulated to use them. Please don't read this as a criticism, I'm just stating facts, not judging.
When we start this story, sorry that I go between game and story, but, I don't feel this as a game anymore, as I was saying, we had just arrived from a longer than expected trip, but, we were already in a FwB relationship. This detail instantly irked several people, especially because Alex wasn't all lovey-dovey but instead showed her mettle. Those people instantly felt slighted. Again, no judging, just facts. This had 2 reasons, mainly: 1- They weren't consulted; 2-She wasn't amicable. So, they felt burdened with a relationship they hadn't chosen with a girl that was angry with the MC for something that they hadn't done (the players). Remember, these people don't read this, they Play this, or more correctly, Role Play this, but since they weren't able to do a full insert (as in they didn't start from Zero) they feel the need to retaliate. Against whom? Poor sweet Alex, that dared to be angry with a FwB that ghosted her for a long time.
I think that it is Sad that so many players feel the need to instantly dump Alex because of this. But, what I think and a floating cloud matters exactly the same for everyone but me.

but she is not forced, you just have to play it for a while... if people don't have the patience to play an hour or two and blow off a game after 10 minutes just because of that, that's on them

The "forced" scene was in Chapter one, about 15-20 minutes into the gameplay.
After that the player could say no to all sexual actions with her and finally break up with her in 3.3.
She's still there and will be.
Because it's just not manageable to render different storylines where she is completely gone (or later in the game Isa, if you deny her).

I get it. But the reason why I'd chosen this hair should be clear after her backstory and her character building.
