these are all the files that are different 1111.png

and each one is very different from the other 2.png
and that's just the story files, not counting the other files.

Since coding is a complex process and sometimes an extra dot can break the whole code, this mod is not universal and has always been updated to match the version of the game
it is necessary that the mod author, or someone who is good at it, should check and update the mod.

The code is the steam version with more updates to it. I'm a coder and was working on a Mod for the Patreon version to update Lain's mod before the GOG version got released but has been slow due to RL.

I'm going to restart working on the mod using the GOG version and release it in parts....

-First I'm going to start with the choice Highlighting & the Minigame Guides to get most of Lain's functionality back.
-Second I'm going to attack the gallery. Add still missing scenes (Like first peek scene on Mrs. Turner), scene labels, endings, cheats, and a scene options screen (char path's affect scenes) *GOG Version already has these options - I may tweak some when I do gallery update, as options may be missing on a few of the scenes.
-Third I'm going to mod in an Achievements section, cheats, and guides to keep track of achievement progress.
-Fourth I'm going to mod in an Ending guide section to help obtain all endings and keep track of ending progress.

I'll also add some UI updates like in the screenshots (see top of second and third) below along the way to make the UI less pixelated on bigger screens.

Note: this may take a while as I'm working on refinishing my basement as I had foundation issues last Summer/Fall and have been refinishing it by myself so while I hope to get working on the mod ASAP it may be slow over the next few weeks.

Update: I've completed episodes 1 & 2. Off next week from work, hope to get a bunch of the game done in between working on my basement.

There is two cut scenes at the very end of some of the endings in which Alice has sex in a classroom, and Tracy has sex in a locker room. Both were removed along with a few small scenes and a little dialogue throughout most likely due to platform content requirements.

I know you're very busy, but if you have the time and the desire, could you please take a look at other Lain's mods?

the game Dating My Daughter

The game was completed and the mods were also under the current version, but bug fixes for the 3rd and 4th part came out.
Do the mod for the 3rd part and mod mod for 4th part require an update?
Lain abandoned mod for 4th part, but it was continued by other users.

Someone wrote that the mods should be updated, someone that it will work like this

Dating My Daughter is a game that I was playing and do have Lain mods for the different parts. I never finished playing part 3 as Lain went MIA and I didn't feel like starting over. I may take a look at it once I finish this mod.

Sorry, but I can't make any promises.

Yeah it's understandable, no rush, whatever you feel comfortable with.
If you will take a look (after finish this mod of course) – great, if not – well, okay

I'm only like in episode 5 but from what i can tell Lain's mod works completely fine with version 1.03 GOG. Like mentioned earlier, renaming the “episode1.rpy” file to “script.rpy” helps for episode 1. I'm not sure about the gallery, but after downloading Gallery unlock from the game thread it works.

Lain's mod will mostly work, however all of the fixes in the dialogue since the initial steam release will be reverted due to Lain's mod using the older version of the script files when she wrote her mod. You may also run into some sections missing the mods effects due to them never getting modded (all files in definitive folder within scripts is missing).

Also if still have the elite content, you'll get runtime errors on most of the alternate costumes scenes as they were fixed in v1.0.3 script. Nevermind...This works as the missing images were added in the GOG release and the extra "a" and "bonus" characters in the script are no longer seen as attributes by v1.0.3's renpy version.

Update on mod: Episodes 3 & 4 are done. Added gallery cheats.
Update 2: Episodes 5 & 6 are done.

Well, i'm in episode 12, finishing the game and i can say that all of Lain's mod features and improvements work throughout the entire game.
All alternate outfit scenes also work without any issues.

Interesting...I just tested and you're right.... the alternate scenes don't seem to break with the GOG release. I know some of the missing images were added into release, but I assumed some of them would still be broken as they have an unneeded extra "a" or "bonus" typed into the (mods) script which some older versions saw as attributes, maybe newer Renpy version that v1.0.3 uses changed how attributes worked on images again.

As for missing features... all of the "Do all scenes" are missing from the files in the Definitive Edition files as none of them got modded with Lain's mod. Also the gallery is missing half the content and the cheat doesn't work.

P.S. weird info... adding Lain's mod with v1.0.3 will break on the games opening logo if the game is unren'd: can't find .... "main/logo.mkv" error 'cause it's in "images/main/logo.mkv". Original v1.0.3 script this line is "images/main/logo.mkv". But this only happens when the game is unren'd.

Update on my mod: I'm going through episodes 1 - 6 testing and playing with things like colors before moving on to episodes 7-12. Feedback on the colors would be appreciated....

These are the working colors, by updating a few variables I can change the entire mods colors. I may try to implement color options at some point but that'd come later.

I've also been fixing bugs and adding a few things as I go....

Well, i don't know what this means but i can confirm that "Do all scenes" feature works on Day 5, 7, 12 and 16 just fine.
