I just want to make sure... is there supposed to be no sound or music at all? Played up to the first meeting with Melody so far.

Yes. Some sound will be in the game later on - music instruments playing and a song.

So, has anyone been able to reach 98 points by the end of the v0.0.5 update?
The most I've ever been able to accumulate is 96, despite the walkthrough mentioning the highest possible value being 98.
EDIT: actually wait nevermind, lol. I think when MrDots made the walkthrough he took into account the points you can earn when you're confronted by Melody after prying into her phone on an earlier date. Doing that, however, misses you out on 3 points which when compared to the points you get on the latest date, is only 2 points.

This game seems pretty neat. What I love the most is that people actually change clothes regularly like normal people. Some missed potential I really noticed was the lack of music. Seeing as this game has a musical theme, it would have been really nice to have some actual music to it. Some background music when appropriate would have been a nice touch. I thought it would be especially cool if the lessons had a short clip of the song they are playing, or when the PC is playing the song when Melody is sick. I guess there are some sound clips later on from what ive read, but music should be a bigger feature in the game, considering its title and all. For comparisons sake, you can think of Acting Lessons having those improv sketches that are amazingly well crafted and fit nicely with the theme.
The dialogue and script are really good and flow naturally, but I did pick up some odd choice of words here and there. "Chemist" to refer to a pharmacist and "hire a room" instead of "rent a room."

Good thing with Mr Dots games (So far) is that it doesn't seem like there's an unreachable threshold for every step so maybe losing a point or two here and there isn't going to hurt?
I'm on 95 points on my main save (I didn't peek at her phone and it's so far back now I can't be bothered to repeat it all for one point) and I don't think one point difference will be an issue?

hmmm I only had 90 points at the end. Not sure what I missed other than going on the date with Auntie instead of Melody.
I really enjoyed the game, but I felt the game kinda pushes you into cutting all ties with people or cheat on all of them. Like I never saw Rebecca after closing the romance route at the dumpster. You'd think that they could remain friends or at least have some non sexual scenes together since they are neighbors after all. I ended it with Izzy also since my PC was getting into something with Amy and potential brewing with Melody. And with her job and circumstances, it wouldnt have been right to lead her on unless you were serious. Wonder if you will ever meet with her after that.

Maybe it's me but I don't feel that having non-sexualised characters after closing off their sexualised/romantic routes adds much to the game. The way I see it is similar to whether you're friends with your ex in real life. There's certainly cases where it works but in most cases it's not likely.
it helps with the immersion i guess. If you cut off Rebecca before you do anything sexual, it wouldn't be like an ex situation. She was the first person who befriends you after moving. It shouldn't be hard for the PC to simply say he likes her company and wants to be friends. But if you try to befriend her by fixing her tap or inviting her to hang out, you are suddenly forced into a sexual relationship. Its pretty opaque and without a walkthrough, most people wouldnt have a choice on the matter unless they load a previous save. If you turn her down, suddenly there is 0 contact with her even though shes your neighbor. The relationships with other side girls are done more organically at least, but they dont have a lot of scenes yet, so it remains to be seen how it will play out.

Yeah ok that makes sense but guess it depends on the purpose too as if the MC befriends Becca but doesn't help with the story in any way then you can say whether that added anything to the game? I'm all for what you said but there has to a purpose or it'll seem like time wasting for everyone.

We're working hard to make sure that the update gets released on time, and contains the maximum amount of content possible. I'm sure you guys (and girls) are going to love it!

So i've been saying that the MC is melody's father for the past few months...Apart form Mr. Dots teasing this father daughter concept in the latest Melody update , did anyone also notice Mr. Dots teasing Melody in another of his game " Dating my Daughter" where the MC asks his daughter to sing a poem with the title containing Melody.

Unless MrDots is surprising us, you're onto something.
I get where you're coming from but considering why Melody started in the first place, unfortunately I'd say that's highly unlikely and also due to the potential consequences if that's true.
There's a number of deliberate references to Melody within DmD but it's still nice to see him promote it. What I'm looking forward to is whether there's a Melody/DmD collaboration somewhere down the line :biggrin:

There is an Amy cameo in the last DMD update (If I remember correctly), so the possibility IS there. My guess is that we could be able to see the crossover happen more inside DMD than Melody... given how Patreon is on the lookout, Dee shouldn't appear on a Melody update, just to be safe.
Hasn't D already been seen? In a coffee shop or cafe if memory serves.
