This might be a translation problem, if a mission is referenced by name and I translated it by accident it will check for mission completion that doesn't exist. I'll make a note to look into it.

Oh, that's also good to know, there must still be some missing Japanese text then as well. Maybe they're related.

Yep, I think I figured out what is causing the missions to not proc, and found some untranslated text!

I had been able to find what I suspect was causing the problem, but haven't gotten around to actually fixing it.

though i assume it won't be compatible with the EN patch since EN patches probably revert the game version like in mistletear and shinemirage iirc

It's a little finicky in terms of where you need to stand, but get close to them and IIRC press either attack or space.
