All hail devs who provide saves with the release of new versions, for each path.

(rly tho... devs should start putting themselves in the shoes of their patreons/clients and start asking "if i was a client what would make me happy?")

I am realy qondering if their patreons are gonna start complaining since this update was so untderwelming. Plus they have stated from the 0.4 that the updates whould be more frequent but that never happened. I dont understand why their patreons dont complain at all
from what I heard on 4chan, there used to be patrons that complained on their patreon page and discord, these guys got their comments deleted and their pledge was blocked. This is from 4chan so take it with a huge grain of salt.

Just curious. Is the rape tag still legit?
Yeah, the game does have "Game Over Rapes", but since it's RenPy...you pretty much need to know the exact clicks to get to it usually.

Oh man, imagine if it was RPG maker instead. RPGM might not be for everyone but just thinking about actually being able to walk around inside the orc camp, I would have loved that. No way I would have enjoyed Noxian Nights as much as I did if it was renpy instead.

Yeah you're right, I just really wanted this game to succeed. It left such a good first impression on me. I kept waiting update after update hoping it would eventually get better but now I'm tired of waiting.
Noxian Nights was amazing and I still go back to it regularly...Like you, I held out hope for this game, I truly enjoyed and respected Hreinngames first work as they were still a liiiiittle slow back then, but still put out amazing quality in a timely fashion. KoD...just isn't doing it for me. Last night, I replayed through it and spent hours w/o my hand on my dick or an erection. That tends to make a boring hentai game...sadly. Still love you guys at Hreinngames, but yeah...this ones getting a little rough on the readin' versus jerkin'. :-/

I find deathly hilarious how every damn thread about RPGM games is routinely filled with complaints about the game using RPGM whilst this one is filled with the opposite complaints of this not being an RPGM game.
I personally have said many times why I think RPGM would be a bad fit for this game, so I won't reiterate. Nonetheless I understand why some would prefer it. Although I am of the opinion that RPGM tends to hide behind the label of "gameplay" what it's usually mindless wandering, backtracking and grinding, thus making its games seem like they are full of content when the truth is that most of game time is actually wasted moving around or in inconsequential fights.
But in the end RPGM and Ren'Py are both tools, whether to use them depends on the job you need done. And the game being done in Ren'Py in my opinion already says a lot about what to expect from it, which is pretty much what we've consistently gotten.
The only complaint I can understand and see as constructive is about the ratio of time spent and content per update. But to assess where it stands for this one I will have to wait for the weekend when I'll be back home.

You know people are angry and not thinking clearly when the last few updates have made them so crazy they actually start praising rpgmaker.

Yes it has a few benefits like open world and...that's it, but that's not worth the complete unreplayablity, clunky gameplay and unfixable bugs (no console) just to name a few. You all need to take a deep breathe and go play an rpgmaker game to remind yourselves how excruciating it is.

The updates have been slow and lackluster cause Sierras working on 3 games at once, likely wont stop either cause even though if they had continued the quality and pace of pre kod 3.0 they'd likely be making 15k a month, she makes almost that already with all her games and doesn't need to split it with an artist.

Kods gone from a top tier game you get excited over to a download the mod, enjoy the one of the new scenes in the gallery and move on throw away title, all while praying the guy who converts rpgmaker games to renpy does it for nox nights so we can relive the glory days in comfort

This.

Saying combat is better in rpgmaker is laughable, its almost identical except at a snails pace as you cant bind ctrl to your mouse and make it go 50x speed like in renpy.

If you miss rpgmaker "gameplay" when ever you move between towns or buildings with a mouse click in renpy close your eyes and imagine encountering several inconsequential mob fights that add no story, challenge or value on the way to your location that took seconds to several minutes to reach and if you really like rpgmaker also pretend the game crashed while viewing the same sprites used in every other game while you were "exploring the games unique universe"

It's not always an absolute "This engine is the best engine"....as much as you guys try to make it. And I really wasn't denegrating RenPy there, it has a different style than RPGM. (can we agree on that?) Some folks have preferences...though I understand in today's world, you better not have an opinion and if you do...keep it to yourself or suffer.

All of that said. There are some games on RenPy I've thoroughly enjoyed and some on RPGM that I've thoroughly enjoyed. Personally, for me, the ratio is higher on the RPGM side. Who knows why, all I do know about KoD is that the dialogue is starting to outweigh the hentai and it's getting boring. :-/

This. (and yes, that's a partial quote :p )

And indeed I never said one is the better engine, I said that Ren'Py in my opinion fits better this game's concept, since it's a game dense with story and dialogue that wouldn't benefit from a JRPG framework. There are plenty of games which can make good use of RPGM features, but this one wouldn't.

imho in RPGM games achieved scenes have more weight than renpy in most cases. I mean when you getting scene after clearing an orc camp in renpy it requires few clicks and it feels like meh;But when you cleared the same camp in rpgm for 20min than talk with few npc's which located in 10 sec of walking from each other and only then you get scene, i think its more valuable from one side. But from the other side renpy is much faster and more comfortable for cheating/fast fapping/skipping boring dialogs.

So if I made a mod that required you to solve calculus problems for twenty minutes to see this game's scenes would you call it an improvement? =P

I don't actually mind rpgmaker games nearly as much when they code them well so that you can speedhack with cheatengine, at 3-4x speed its an ok experience, but when coded poorly they crash every 5-10min so you have to save often and restart the process which is almost as bad as reg speed.

That being said I actually prefer an open world to a point and click VN engine like renpy but I do take issue with rpgmaker as an engine, it cant be that people are that bad at making games in it, Unity or Unreal for example are much bigger and comprehensive engines and the games on those run much smoother with fewer bugs, rpgmaker games feel cheap and clunky even when actual game studios use it, even the new iterations feel 20 years behind and I grew up on gameboy games.

I don't like mods that changes the basics of the game. Clearing orc camps/ solving puzzles helps with narration/ story processing , im fine with this. Games have to be fun and intresting at the same time
