That still doesn't solve the points problem though. Or the need to go through "perfect" playthroughs to be with someone despite everything the characters have gone through together. They have been using a point system in all of their games and still haven't been able to wrap their heads around it. At some point you'd have to think that maybe it's not something you should try again.
I agree, the points system is badly used in how it essentially catches the player at 11th hour without any prior indication they're underperforming. Especially the way you're put through finale with every girl bawling her eyes out at the idea of MC leaving, only then for the game to inform the player than no, they don't actually care all that much because not enough points, it's just silly.

Unrelated to the points but I also don't know what they were thinking with the writing of the cousin's character in the end of the game.
Like cxx mentions, this is fairly standard development for "inexperienced" characters in porn games. It is what passes for "development" in them and it's a major draw for certain subset of the playerbase.

Except it can be all skipped with just being able to put in max points for everyone at the start of Ch.3 so it's nonsensical and well, pointless. If someone wanted to see all the game has, they'd play multiple times on their own and without artificial blocks which don't even play any role in the game itself. If they don't, then forcing them isn't going to improve their experience or think better of the game.

Introducing Megan - Friend or Foe?

Hello again to all our supporters.

We’re getting closer to releasing the very first update of our brand new game “Thief of Hearts” and will hopefully be able to share an official release date for you all very soon.

Today, however, we are sharing some images of another character who will feature throughout the story.

Her name is Megan, and she will be introduced at some point during the first update.

The question you will be asking yourself after encountering this stunningly gorgeous woman, is if she is a friend, or foe?

Not every character that you meet in the game will be 100% trustworthy, so it’s up to you to decipher who is working against you, or genuinely trying to help.

You’ll need to use your best instincts and make the right choices at the right time to give you the best chance to progress in the game.

Do you think Megan is the kind of woman that you’ll be able to trust?

Let us know what you think of her in our comments section.

Progress report:

This is a rough idea of where we are with each section of the release:

Writing: 95%

Renders: 80%

Animations: 10%

Coding: 80%

Other: 50% (menu setup, bonus image gallery, credits screens etc)

From now until the game is released, we’ll keep you informed of our progress with our preview post each weekend.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone,

MrDots and the Team
Can we get the last two updates here too`? Thanks mate

yes but that'd be cheating and there are still some pure souls who don't cheat in avns.

It was a cool game, sucked the ending was messed up at first. Wish I had waited to play before downloading the fixed version. But sounds like the endings were all a bit generic for each. Too many games do that crash and burn at the end thing - though unlike this, many are because the dev got sick of working on it and are done/moved to a new project.

I think part of it was this project was big for them. Not the size or length but just too many characters to deal with. It's also pretty clear that they don't have the capacity to work on more than one game at a time. Hopefully they start the next one and just stick with it and don't try and throw another one into the mix. It's good for them on a monetary level but bad for everyone else. The games don't get the attention they need and the updates take forever if you are not playing both.

Yes, I quote. Was a pity.

i'm pretty sure that after some updates of new game they'll start another game.

dmd and melody were easy since those were similar while dmd and sl were like day and night.

Agree. Working on more than 1 game at a time should never be done for said reasons. Also, new one was worked on towards the end of this.

I love his games, been grinding through this one, but one little beef I have is all the "thought bombs" or "thought comas" as I call them where the character lapses into a coma, nothing but endless lines of thoughts, often of things we already know about. I skip A LOT of thoughts in this game as I want to reach the end of it before I die of old age! LOL

Good game, I really do like it... just... with less thinking, and maybe more brains. Another beef I have is "I kissed her, we better sit down and talk about it"... I am like... WHAT?! Sorry, but I was married for almost 37 years, met a few women before that, kissed a few, had sex with a few... never once felt the need to sit down and discuss each KISS!!! LOL... or "This isn't the right time to tell him/her"... again, good games but... the dialog could be improved and while I realize this is just a game, a TINY bit of realism would be nice. Never sat down and had a lengthy conversation about a kiss in my life. And I never once stood outside a girls door who just invited me in, thinking of all the ins and outs of opening her door before stepping inside! ;)

The writing in dots games has always been the weakest part, to put it kindly. They have also made this MC a massive bitch with the social understanding of a six year old.

It's not just Dots, MC's nearly everywhere are "massive bitches with the social understanding of six year olds". There's very few that think and act like normal adults.

Yeah, unless you got money and are fairly young and in good health (none of those apply to me) the real world is rough.

realism? many play games (avns and others) to escape from real world at least for a few hrs.
I don't want full on realism. Just not endless lines of text from the MC as he goes over, in detail, everything he has done and will do and makes plans to sit down and have a lengthy conversation about a KISS!

I want to see how this game ends, but on the flip side, I don't know if I can survive it. ;)
