TBH it was too ambitious to begin with. We'd have about 3 feet of text just listing the tags at the top of every post, it'd take longer to search by tag and mousing over the latest updates would cause the screen element to extend beyond the bottom of the screen for most games.

The tag search would become bloated, ctrl+f doesn't do anything with that. The top of every thread would become bloated, ctrl+f doesn't do anything with that. The pop-up web element on the latest updates page would become bloated and ctrl+f doesn't do anything with that.
If you're actually searching through tags with ctrl+f then I don't know what to say to you. You're picking the most difficult route for the easiest task. I can't even imagine how to make that function work for the task of searching tags considering tags don't even show up until you mouse over the game on the latest updates page.
