Why do American gamers hate sex or sexiness in their game?

I'd rather not get too political, but it's a combination of the long-lasting effects of puritanism and the current feminist school of thought regarding sex in media. You get the older, frumpier types that find it "gross" and the younger, whinier types that find it "objectifying". The US has always been a sexually repressive country in some ways, and a shockingly sexualized country in other ways.
Fully agree with that, but I'd argue that Barbie is just as much sexualized as He-Man.

Funnily, in both shows, the opposite sex seems rather de-sexualized. In Barbie moreso than in He-Man, but still.

I'm just gonna say that i prefer when devs stick to the theme they initially conceived.

That is to say:
*If you planned a smut-rpg then make sure both the smut and the rpg parts are as great as can be, don't go making one part great and the other just there as an afterthought.
*If you planned pure fantasy rpg, then don't go sticking half-naked loli swimsuits (hello Tera) into it just because that's what sells.

Part of this might be because of the poor reputation pornographic content has in regards to quality. Combine this with the fact that any sexual content would result in an AO rating, something that most stores are unwilling to put on shelves, and you have an issue with locating games with sexual content in them.

I find the exact opposite is true, while eastern style stories will have more blatant nudity or clothing, they seem far les comfortable with everything else about sex, the flirting and innuendo dynamic, the dance of sexual tension between characters. To me, many of these eastern style stories feel like a 13 year old boy's narration on sex "Yeah theres a HOT girl and she has almost NO clothes, and then, and then they BANG! HARD!" To which an imaginary interviewer responds, "Ok, so how do we get them to this point? What should we say to them?" 13yo: "Huh? I dont understand. WE BANG THEM!!! huehueuhee"

Obviously exaggerated, perhaps in a single sentence im saying it has sex without sexiness, and Ive found this to be much more the case in eastern than western styles. To each their own though -to the op, I would certainly not take any reddit opinions on tabletop games to heart, lets just avoid the pejoratives and say that's an extremely niche crowd within an already small group.

Why do people think all Americans are alike because a small number of them acted one way or think one way? Its a country of over 300 million people.
If it is just a minority of it ..

How do you explain the whole US behaviour towards all other countries in the world.
Past 70 years spent in war and war crimes?

Whatever it is, my bet is on the United States' status as the leading great power, I think it has very little to do with American gamers who hate sex and sexiness in their games...

Tabletop RPGs are probably a weird place to bring sex unless you're specifically playing a sexual game with people you're willing to bang. I don't want to sit down with non-sexual friends, or total strangers in some cases, and RP a full sexual encounter with a female NPC created by a male GM. But, the people who lose their shit at the very idea of this probably aren't gamers. Even on gaming sites, forums, and subreddits there's a lot of non-gamers pushing their bs woke politics.
Not a prude or a Christian but this sounds like pure cringe. I guess it would work for people that are into swinging or gang bangs.
In general stories like games, books, movies, tv shows etc im all for romance and sex. Books where the protagonist is a no libido monk piss me off. You don't have to describe the sex scenes just let us know that it happens or at least that the protagonist is interested.

Well, not all stories benefit from sex. It's very "down to earth" activity and may make some characters look like "just another humans" instead of epic heroes. After reading a lot of VNs with action plots and many cool heroines to choose from, I noticed that I like them way more outside of their route. Because on their own route they are just some girls fucking with lame protag, filthy sluts! Massive dissapointment. So I prefer sex scenes to be rapes of female antagonists rather than having romantic relationships with allies, it devalues them somewhat in my eyes. Slice of life stuff is different of course.

They don't and I can't believe someone was ignorant enough to say puritanism, that's funny because they probably believe puritans in America. Games are made for a foreign market.

The real answer is that American media is increasingly tailored towards marketing a product towards as many people as possible and that also includes a global audience. Sexual appeal is incredibly popular, why do you think actors and actresses are typically attractive people.

But products are made with as little risk as possible, why risk your product getting banned in China because a female character has some cleavage. Instead claim you care about gender issues, use that in the marketing for America while also keeping the more restricted foreign market happy.

As for Reddit, many subreddits are woke but we don't know OP's details. There's a monumental difference between being a pervert on your own time and trying to push it on others.

Americans are accountable and responsible for choosing their governments.

Americans are those that give a government a mandate.

Do not drop your accountability
Less than 50% of Americans who are eligible to vote actually vote. So you can't blame a minority for the actions of its government.

That's a dangerous way of thinking. People aren't personally or collectively accountable for their governments.

And now this shit's really gone offtopic.
Dude.. you might want to read what democracy is.
What is dangerous is what you say.. lacking of acknowledging that the accountabilities of government actions is on the citizens that voted for that government.

Maybe what you say, is just a way to keep your conscience clean..

Anyway. Off-topic agree.
