I really enjoy this game and am anxiously awaiting the next installment. I'm sure the dev realizes that some of his present and future patrons are because of this site, so probably shouldn't be so sensitive.

Half agree. The support is indeed for the creator, but the reason of supporting is the creation. While monthly charge doesn't mean the update has to be monthly, there needs to be some sort of reasonable timeline to be acceptable before I'd consider such practice as milking instead.

So... in all this drama, any news when the next update will come? Whether it will be delayed for a couple days here or not?
the game will be released for 10$ patreons today, Cheecky asked the leaker to postpone the pirated version for 4/5 days promising extra "non-patreon" stories as a reward.
Hence if Cheeky plan works we will get ep. 9 on the 15th, otherwise as soon as someone post it. nobody knows

Anyone can just do the patronage for the creation, and then cancel the patronage. That way you can't be "milked" and only donate whenever something you want to support pops out. You can effectively just support the creation that way if you don't want to support the creator per se.
Maybe, but my statement was about the NOW. And so far there's no update out yet.
You shouldn't count on money what you don't have yet. Likewise, you can not count on an update what is not yet outside. So my statement is not wrong!

It's fun watching the development arc of some of these games. I remember when this one first came out and all the debate was about Zarah and how come there's no incest.
Then, it started picking up fans and slowly turned that "momentum" corner to the comfortable level it's at now. Real excitement and debate, real patronage and almost no worry over "family relations", since the characters are just as fun as they are.
Of course, there's still moaning over Zarah, but, hey, we all need something to fill up some space between updates, right?
(As an aside, I'm just fine with Zarah. I was actually a bit put off with her because of her forwardness, not her looks. But now that she's on board with helping MC get Monica, she's a best buddy!)

i think some of the reasons why this game blew up, is of course the incredible quality of the game, no doubt (i would like to point out the way above porn level quality dialogues with katie).
but also, especially because it's no incest game.
a lot of people are put off with incest and this game has all the content like: milf, childhood-friend love interest, relatable story-base and roommate-esque situation, without the usual incest that seems mandatory in these kind of games. sure there are games where you can switch-off the incest or hasn't inbuilt it by default because of patreon guidelines. but on all those games you can clearly see or feel that it was made with incest in mind (kinda like:"i can't have romantic feelings for you, because you are like a sister/brother/mother/father/daughter/son to me).
so WtHi is THE game for people who want the above mentioned content, but without any notion of incest.

Hmm, I wouldn't exactly go saying "a lot of people are put off with incest", it's one of those most dominating fetishes out there, has one of the biggest following, no, I wouldn't say incest is the problem, the problem is that most incest stories are pretty generic and lacking, poorly written in a way that it doesn't feel natural nor believable.
