As I'm rebuilding my VN, I want to make sure to make it great.

What features make you go Yay? What is unacceptable to you and makes you delete it right away?

Yay:
Power and control.
Mind control, Incest, Rape, Etc.
It doesnt mather aslong my male protaganist is controling the womans.

Instant delete:
Woman succesfully dominating me(i dont mind a challange to break a bitch but having them just dominate me is a big no)
Lack of gameplay(i am playing games not reading a book)

1. The writing is more important than the art. (Of course, both should be good.)

2. Characters must be interesting and fleshed out. Otherwise, I’ll just watch porn.

3. Plots/scenes decided “democratically” on patreon or somesuch. The loudest people on the internet are usually idiots. I’d be interested in checking out your game, not their game. (I can see that you unfortunately like to operate this way.)

4. If the MC is uninteresting or unlikable, I lose interest. I deleted this game because of that.

5. Scene galleries. Not having them is lazy.

6. Animation is usually just a drain on a developer’s (limited) time for insufficient gain.

7. Grinding can definitely make me delete games.

8. In a similar vein, scene-hunting without a substantial hint system is a no-go. Life is simply too short.

9. Be as kinky as you like, as long as you don't do something that is liable to draw too much SJW attention.

All this being said, I do look forward to seeing your lesbian superhero ryona game. (from a cursory look at your patreon page, that seems to be what you are doing).
And remember to cover your ass regarding copyright.
Good luck.

Script:
1. Catching beginning, balanced development of all story arcs, culmination, a satisfying ending;
2. Branching dialogues;
3. Meaningful choices with different outcomes.

Visuals:
1. Very good 2D art or an outstanding 3D art for characters;
2. Varied locations for backgrounds;
3. Multiple camera angles during sex scenes;

Music/sound:
1. Neutral ambient for dialogue scenes;
2. Dynamic music change for emotional scenes;
3. Sex sounds and moanings.

Yay for:
-Meaningful choices
-Character customization
-Good performance on low end hardware
-Originality

Nay for:
-Bad 3DCGI (Just say 'no' to Blinn-Phong!)
-Grind
-Using the same exact props and characters as everyone else.
-Minigames
-Engrish
-Having to name the MC
-Diverging story arcs (missing half of the content because of a choice)
-Repeating random events
-Cursive fonts
-"You play as a young man moving to a new home/city/school after your parents die" trope.
-Anything over 2Gb
-Wall of text.
-Unskipable (cut-)scenes
-Text that appear o n e l e t t e r a t a t i m e
- ... (yeah, that time when you get text boxes that are only '...' )
-Minigames!
-RPG Maker MV
-Black dogs with orange eyebrows

The quality& quantity of porn.

Of course, some people hold certain titles in higher regard by having a good story. Some people just want to get off. But being that people look SPECIFICALLY for porn VNs BECAUSE it has porn, the quality and quality of porn in it matters most.

Good stories can make someone replay a VN, maybe once or twice. Good porn on the other hand has people coming back a lot more times for jacking off.

Something a little different from what others are saying, as I recently tried the demo, but the ability to play the full game and not be locked behind a paywall.

Easy to branch choices where the reader does not have to be Colombo trying to figure out where the alternate paths are.

Pretty sure some of this stuff is probably stated in someone's post above here, or you just know this stuff, but here's what I think a good VN needs to have, though these are also blended with some personal stuff as you'll probably tell:

1) An MC that develops- I'm not a big fan of MCs that are either stupid/dense as all get-out unless girls literally throw their naked bodies towards him, nor am I a massive fan of MCs who are overpowered as hell unless the sex scenes are good. Personally, I think a good example of this would by the main character of the Maji de Watashi Ni Koi Shinasai! series, Naoe Yamato. Personal favoritism towards this VN aside, the best example of this comes from A-1's route with Azumi, where he needs to learn to be an effective butler amidst the sea of superhumans that work right next to him. TL;DR, don't have a strong MC, have an interesting MC. Even if they have a superpower of some sort, make them learn and develop it. But that's just me.

2) Great writing, especially during any steamy sequences- Although I love F/SN, the visual novel's sex dialogue is a bit strange sometimes, at least IMO. But in general, as long as the dialogue sounds like a natural conversation, you don't really need to worry about something like this.

3) Choices that matter- I personally don't mind bad endings. What I do mind, though, are choice that don't really make a difference. It makes me wonder, "If me save-scumming and retrying the choice doesn't make a difference, why have it there at all?"

But again, these are obviously tainted with personal ideals, so take them with a grain of salt unless you already understand them. Then, go about your business.
