Yeah... Although for the game I used the Chinese version as a base(Japanese version looked like it was also machine translated. DeepL and Sugoi were producing advanced levels poetry instead of normal levels of poetry) In-game text will be a better.

With that said I feel DeepL isn't as good for translating Chinese as it is with Japanese, so ChatGPT was used primarily.

As someone who's worked on actual TL work in the past, I can tell you anything that is done in MTL will usually never get an actual translation as there's not as much market for them anymore. MTLs are killing the practice of actual translation work.

I can't speak to other forms of media as I've pretty exclusively worked with VNs and these games but it's becoming a real problem in the industry. If it is here, it could be in other forms of media too but I can't speak for them since I'm not involved with them personally.

MTLs have been quietly pushing into the industry for over a decade now. It just didn't get the attention it gets now because the cases were so small and niche that no one took it seriously. Most multilanguage "How to start" manuals are MTL to cut costs but still meet legal requirements.
