I believe that is taking it out of context. If there were a community of red hat fetishists that rivaled the futanari fanbase then your argument would apply perfectly.
It's a difference in the fantasy the porn content delivers. Those who like this game like the idea of a man feminized. If the MC were a girl from the start the game wouldn't fullfill this kind of fantasy.
I mean, you're right, I did take it out of context. But I'm trying to say that reworking the whole game to offer a new gender or at least a new set of tits on the MC is a huge undertaking, not the authors' interest and is EXTREMELY overrepresented throughout the rest of the market.
Hmm...I don't recall anyone suggesting a complete shift for the MC. I believe the initial suggestion followed my argument, which is it could draw in extra players if it were an *option*. Perhaps a toggle when beginning your game, or an optional side quest to acquire breasts somehow. If integrated this way it wouldn't alienate anyone.
It wouldn't require a reworking, only additional (minimal) art at bare minimum, and additional dialogue if they wanted to go the full mile. I agree with you that it is an undertaking, but there is a reason artists often vary futa, breast size, butt size, etc. in their pieces. It's not like redrawing a face. It appears that most of the art is drawn in many layers so animation can be applied later. This workflow allows easy edits for the options discussed.
Then you fall under the counterargument that's already been provided: dev time is a scarce resource and implementing this option would subtract time from getting new content for those that don't care about it.
Hmm...I am sensing hostility. Please understand this is a public forum which some are using to merely discuss ideas. I'm sure the devs are intelligent enough not to listen to every idea. They will only take advice they feel is genuinely valuable. If breasts are a terrible idea from their perspective, nothing will change. If they like the idea, it's reasonable to assume they feel it will make the game more successful.
Your idea is not invalid or disregarded. But it has been made and addressed over and over again ad nauseum in this thread. Yes, it would increase the audience size, but at the cost of a huge time penalty to development progress. This is unnecessary, considering how much choice the futa audience has with other games.
