In writing... More or less the opposite, lol. I discovered that I love writing difficult female LIs that have their own agenda and need hard work to be "conquered" (even if sex might come earlier than that, "it doesn't really change anything between us, you know"). Exploring their mindset, their goals and dreams, so that the player can use them to make the LI finally fall head over heels for the MC.

Oh nice! Sounds like the plot I'm currently planning right now. This one's a bit more depraved though. Lots of public sex and normalized sexual intercourse within the playing area. How these situations play out will vary and would make sense through the plot. It won't be your typical type of H game, it'll be an overall messed up sex fever dream lmao.

I agree on the last part though. If my plans go well, and if I were to finish the game and make the sequel, it'll be your standard game but with twists of corruption because of the previous story. I know I'm being really vague rn but I've yet to flesh out things. But yeah anyway, in the sequel, I'd definitely include a few characters that would be a high risk/high reward kind of thing. And try to be more in-depth in terms of character writing for every girl in it.

I can't remember the passage, but I'm pretty sure Freud argued exactly the opposite: that it's one of the points of the attractiveness of anal sex.
Now, even if I recall correctly, Freud was often wrong (he was a pioneer in the field and a whole century passed in the meantime).

This is definitely true: recently I rendered a scene with anal (a placeholder for the game I'm writing), the first one since I upgraded to G8, and it all looked so wrong: angles, interaction, etc.
Actually, I feel that 50% of the games around here are done with the Illusion engines [leaving out the plentitude of silly jokes that you're offering on a silver platter ], but I suppose that makes your point about technical difficulties even truer.

I could see half of that as interesting. It's true that having power brings a different kind of pleasure to the mind. I know I'd use this aspect in my games but in small dozes. I'd most likely stick with vanilla and taboo type of story telling in balance so that most players don't get too overwhelmed with depravity. Of course that will depend on the type of game the dev wants to portray but it's usually one of the reasons I bail out and find another game to play.
I generally look for games that are really games where choices matter and not the linear story type of game, which is just cartoon porn anyway.
I do like the romantic paths in games but they should not be a given, they should try at least to reflect real life where you have to work for it.
Good animation, or none, just not what usually tries to pass itself off as animation.

Ahhh yeah realism. I like drawing curvy women but only if it looks anatomically possible at least. But if I'm gonna use 3d renders for my visual novel games then it would be a great start to have it be leaning in the realistic side when it comes to body variations.

I assume you've played Being A DIK too? It's well written and you have to work with branching stories depending on your choices and efforts. That's my kind of game.
