His coder is likely the number one reason this game is so fucking dead stalled. Between that and the blatant lack of consistent workflow.

Sure thing. Iirc the main story was finished either way, and you have some basic choices, some mini games etc. The game has been in a weird done, but not done limbo for an entirety. However what’s there will feel like a basically complete experience to any newcomer, especially compared to the amount of stuff that’s usually in nsfw games.
Yeah, I found her game kind of boring too, to be honest, but I tried it a long time ago, so maybe something has changed for the better since then. And honestly, I didn't care about the art, personally, the story itself is just weak for the most part.
Does anyone have any idea why this game is underrated and has almost no support? It's just really strange that some of the quality games get almost no attention or feedback.

Try Flexible Media games: Paradise Lust 1/2, Sinners Landing. Nice drawing style, vibe, characters and top writing. The developer also aims to release completed games within 3 years which is very rare here. PL1 is already completed.
Out of curiosity, why do you consider StS as the best 2d porn game? What does this game have that others don't?

it's not that hard to figure out. female protag + ntr + sandbox + rpgm, a huge portion of the potential players would outright refuse to play because of a single one of those tags, now add the other tags on top of it and the outreach of said game is greatly limited.

They are many small games in this site who are very underrated wich makes the support of this game more crazy.
Like i understand liking and wanting to support Summertime but holy shit this guy gave you nothing for 2 years and hes going to give you crumbs and tell you is the greatest thing ever now.
You're probably right, I sometimes forget that people often value tags a lot. But what's wrong with a sandbox or rpgm? It doesn't seem to matter how good the execution is.
Far too many people seem to only care about the porn part of porn games. At this rate, there won't be any global improvements at all. AI sex chats is the future, I suppose.

Sandbox games are notorious for being 'grindy' with Big Brother being basically a one game reason why that opinion cemented itself, doesn't matter if the sandbox game in question isn't actually grindy. Similar to RPGmaker, which people connect with gameplay, something that runs a bit counter when the reason they are playing is to rub one out. Now combine that together and you got a mix people are more likely to bitch about.
You really need something to tickle someone's fancy to make them play such games. Be it a good story or really good art.

the main problem with sandbox is the fact that they are usually done incorrectly and solely implemented to stretch out the amount of the content that is included in the game. there are countless cases where games would be better off without the tedious sandboxes. for me rpgm lacks way too many basic features eg. rollback. rpgm games are usually lower resolution so when you play on a higher resolution display it kind of becomes a problem if you want to preserve quality of image.
No rollback, cannot save or load mid-conversation, no named saves, very often no conversation log.

Long answer: You could just go to Patreon and see that there are recent posts and then find them copy/pasted in this thread by a Patreon subscriber, or you could go to the developer's website to their news page to see a progress tracker that moves slowly, or you could go to Picarto on a weekday afternoon (US eastern time) and ask the lead developer, DarkCookie, himself.

Holy shit, I've played the game back in the 2010s, still remember the original sister update when it launched, yet the game is abandoned now? What shame, such potential wasted.

"Abandoned" is more of a categorical thing in this case. It's still being worked on, albeit so slowly it qualifies for the Abandoned tag
It's THEORETICALLY still being updated, as he streams himself doodling pictures for the game. But it's been 2 years since the last minor tweak update, and 2 years before that since the last content update.
