[Suggestion] Changes to Corruption Tag

Corruption is pretty subjective. Let's take for example a skinhead neonazi character. He/she is a stereotypical violent racist punk. But over the course of the game, they accept that they're attracted to the same sex, and maybe starts questioning their beliefs. Eventually they leave their old life behind to live with their same-sex spouse and adopted African child. To the average person, that story might be positive, even uplifting. To that character's peers, it would be an insidious pollution of the mind, probably caused a hook-nosed creature that loves money and corrupting pure, innocent genocidal hoodlums.

So I'd say the line between a sexual-liberation story and a corruption story depends on the player's values, but also on what's causing the changes. If the MC is being, let's say, intentionally brainwashed, even if the changes are very tame, you can safely call it corruption as long as there is any sexual component to it. The corruption is an intentional process on the part of one of the characters.

It is more of how they find sexual liberation as you call it.
Tho in most cases it is slutification.
As in they become so sex obsessed it is there only or at least main goal in life.

Corruption is the act of twisting someone's viewpoints into something you want.
Teaching a slut to be a prude is just as much corruption as teaching a prude to be a slut.

So far i find that unlike ntr, mind control and loli the corruption tag isnt that missused.
Granted that is because corruption encompase a great many things and i do agree that having more tag's to define the context of the story would help.
But i can understand that having over 3 billion tag's that meaby 1 or 2 games will use is wasted time.

Now shoud the tag's be updated?
Yes.
Is sexual liberation a fetish?
No.

You can argue it belongs under slutification instead of corruption but that is it.

I for one end up browsing games with the corruption tag a long time before I come across one that fits my wants/needs (my type of corruption) so I totally get what The Anax is sayin.

I think their needs to be a tag for the lighter/low-level forms of corruption and one for the heavier/higher-level forms of corruption. Its hard to deny that such a valley exists and I think 'sexually liberated' and 'slutification' could help out quite a bit, the former more so I think. Sexual liberation imo is sorta a light corruption, if even that, that most corruption tagged games use to what they feel corruption. Keep the original corruption tag as a catchall for sure, like it is now. But also add like a 3nd tag for the heavy corruption stuff.

Like for me its like the tags bondage and bdsm, groping and sexual harassment, gay and lesbian, kinetic novel and text based, cheating and ntr, teasing and sexual harassment. Their kind of the same but are really different. May contain some of the same elements but its hard to deny their is a difference and im pretty sure corruption is one sure tag that needs addressing too.

The corruption tag is fitting for any game where, over the course of the game, the mc makes the girls do sexual things they wouldn't do at the start. A good example is an incest game where the guy ends up having sex with his mother and sisters. That requires corruption of their minds. Neither the tag or the meaning of the word corruption require them to become evil, wicked, or immoral outside of sex.

IMO, if you want a tag for making someone corrupted AND evil, that would require its own tag.

Didn't read the whole thing, but you make a valid point. Corruption is just one of those things that has come to be associated with different meanings in regards to porn.

VNDB differentiates "Corruption of Characters" with "Sexual Corruption." The former is basically what you are suggesting and the latter is the more common pure -> slut progression.

In F95zone I think the corruption tag basically incorporates both definitions. Not necessarily the monsterification (that one is covered by transformation), but turning into evil is one aspect covered by the corruption tag. Sexual Corruption is just much more common than turning evil, so you just see more of those.
