You need to buy something from the shop first, to discard when your bag is full.
As of now, you have no use for anything but the rope, brush, and dagger, but the rest might be used later.
Brush can be given up safely. It saves you 10 minutes of time, but there's more than enough to have left over time to kill afterwards.

You also don't use the dildo, but I have a feeling it will come into play in a future update.

Thanks for the help but just one more question, what do you use the dagger for.

When you're exploring the city, (little arrow under the time in the top center of the screen) you can have a couple interactions. One of them has you find a crate that fell off a truck. You can't pry it open by hand, but you can use the letter opener as a prybar. Inside is a choice for either an item (that isn't used yet) and a morality shift.

And while we're here, Rope and brush change an interaction while exploring nature. Of the two, rope is more important, as it gives more affection points than completing the task without it. There's no clue what the other items will do, yet.
