RPGM - Completed - Sol Rui -after mini- [v1.2] [Enokippu]

Top tier for RPGM if you're into its fetishes. Mind control / hypnosis might be the main component of the story, but there's plenty of other fetishes that get their time to shine. Other comments exaggerate how short it is in my opinion, there's plenty of scenes to seek out that give it a decent overall length, without requiring a second playthrough.

The Live2D is fantastic, it feels like an iteration 10 steps down the line, not one of the first takes I've seen on it in a game like this. Might take some getting used to the kinda awkward idling, but the dev made sure to add a lot of specific interactions to make the most use of it and I'm super impressed.

Text has some problems, it usually isn't obvious it's MTL, but definitely takes you out of it from time to time. There's occasional buggy text in menus without proper formatting. It feels like they tried to show corruption leaking into dialogue, but halfassed it due to the limitations of RPGM. It's a fun gimmick for this exact genre that didn't get used well.

Last mention is it does a good job working in the "die to get porn" thing a lot of people hate. It's baked into the story to lose and get teleported to the main room and continue from where you were, slowly getting further / stronger and more corrupted. You may have to purposefully die to access a scene you would miss, but it feels like part of the story and not just forcing yourself into a game over.

I want more games with this quality or better of Live2D "sprites", and more games with this level of mind control corruption. This game hitting both was a treat.

RPGM games aren't usually good, but there are exceptions.

The main problem with most RPGM games is that artists use them as a vehicle for their art rather than as a chance to make interesting gameplay. The worst offenders don't even bother engaging with RPGM's built-in battle system, shunting it away in favor of turning RPGM into a tedious VN.

Thankfully, Sol/Rui -After Mini- does better than that on a number of fronts.

Firstly, there's gameplay. My usual complaints about RPGM gameplay being outdated still apply here, but the ways that RPGM was used here were decently thought out.

Your character is trapped in a demon's pocket dimension and must beat four separate erotic scenarios, each with their own primary gameplay feature. While most of them basically amount to intelligent map navigation or quick-time events, the minor differences help to appropriately set their individual tones. Horror school, sci-fi bunny lounge, fantasy forest, and goblin caves... well, okay, those last two aren't particularly well-differentiated scenarios, but they do at least have different gameplay styles to them.

Speaking of variety, special mention goes to the animated paper doll animations, which are certainly a step above the typical stillframe CGs of the aforementioned bad RPGM games. Each scene or Game Over rape is well set-up and executed, and I enjoyed myself through about 80% of the content.

While it isn't perfect, this is up there as one of the better RPGM games for good reason, and it is certainly worth taking a look at if you're into mind control and corruption. Great work.

Outstanding visuals matched with medoicre story. The 4 stars are almost entirely for the visual and engine aspect of the game. A live2d standing image game with gameplay of harrassment is an absolute goldmine.

The game's shortcoming is its story, with the main character staying largely the same across the game and corruption level.

There is so much lost potential in the possible events and flavor text this game could have had, but instead you get the same text for events even if its being triggered the second time or in a corrupted state.

Yes you get some additional content after being corrupted to a certain extent, but the amount is a pittance compared to what it could have been, and it's a shame that the amazing engine and visuals were not leveraged more.

Still worth a play! Just know that a potato laptop/pc will stutter in the 1st door during the chases.

First of all don't LET THE NAME FOOL YOU this game is not EXTREMELY short. The "-after mini-" is kind of misleading, and this is more of a proper sequel to their first game Sol-Rui/Soul Rui. The game is extremely good/made with passion but the only thing that brings the score down to 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the M T L. Don't get me wrong the translation is not garbage like 95% of MTL in this site, but it's still not properly fully edited MTL and the M T L tarnishes the quality of this game. It's fully understandable but it's like you're talking to a brain damaged relative/loved one, it's like you knew what they used to be and now they are speaking like a cave man.. So that aspect is quite sad and I wish this game would get a proper translation in order to push it to 5/5-10/10. I'm still thankful to the one who MTL and edited this game because he made sure there will be no game breaking stuff that is caused by his MTL and the game is understandable enough to know the general gist of the plot. Without his MTL then I might not have been able to play this game.

Let's talk about the first game/prequel of this game. THAT game is extremely bad/mediocre and did not age well (2013 H game), my expectations were sent lower than the Mariana trench because I played that game before this one and I was wondering how this game kept getting extremely high scores, yet the prequel of this game is pretty mediocre. One good thing that came out of me playing the prequel (the PREQUEL HAS PROPER FAN TRANSLATION!) is that I came to appreciate the development of the protagonist even more thus this game is a lot better if you've played the shitty prequel. The developers (enokippu) usually make unique and extremely well-made H games but it seems their first game (Soul Rui) missed the mark (I played all their games and liked them all except Soul Rui/prequel of this game).

Let's talk about the story first of all, story is about 3.5/5 it's pretty serviceable enough to excuse the H plot and it's quite coherent/respectful of the prequel lore that makes it quite enjoyable if you've played the prequel as you'll know how Rui became Soul Rui/background world lore.

Art is 5/5 their presentation and how H scenes play out are pretty great! Luckily they have tamed down the degree of ryona/brutal h scenes in this game (the developers are mostly famous for that). There are various H scene scenarios that are all fun to explore.

Gameplay 5/5, this game has the most diverse amount of gameplay that an H game can have, since the main aspect of this game is about 4 different doors with different H gameplay and H scenarios/themes per door. One scenario is about a haunted school, another is a bunny girl whorehouse, another is an adventurer roguelike, last but not least is a goblin-slayer inspired theme. This game is basically an H game theme park. The game has multiple endings (several bad ends, good ending, and a true ending). It took me 4 hours and 4 minutes in order to get true ending/as pure as possible ending, and 5 hours and 44 minutes in order to experience all the H elements of this game.

TLDR: Try the game it's definitely deserving of being in a TOP 10 best H-games list. Only downside is the MTL (which is understandable but not fully coherent) and I wish this game would get a proper translation someday.

P.S. Normal Ending = Best ending. True Ending is meh.

I have to say, this game was amazing. This piece is essentially 4 games packed into one, of which each game is great. The difficulties are basically just there to provide an easier corruption run or pure run which is actually pretty neat. The animations were completely fine and ran smooth on my system and I would say they were fine quality wise as well.

The only complaints I have is that I found the whole thing a bit short, and the left door (school) was a bit dragged on, but other than that an excellent game. Highly recommended!

I wish I could rate this 3.5 stars. It's a competently made game but it doesn't deserve the near-universal 5 stars that it's been getting.

The biggest issue I have is that it fails to mesh the H content and the gameplay together well, like Karryn's Prison or Enokippu's other games such as Kunoichi Botan or Crimson Colosseum. The interactivity was a big plus in Enokippu's other games and it's just... missing here. There's a tiny bit of this in the 3rd door with ogres and the final boss, but otherwise it's just disconnected gameplay with a game-over sex scene if you lose. Meh.

The gameplay in many of the doors is kind of obnoxious. There's a big emphasis on obstructing the player's view, which generally isn't very fun.

The game is missing a middle difficulty button. I found the default to be excessively tough for an H game, while the casual option was completely trivial.

The H scenes are generally fairly solid, although they'd obviously be better if they were built into the gameplay more.

As I've said before, variety is the spice of life and Sol Rui manages to change things up not only from the usual humdrum, interminable RPGM combat but also within the game itself.

The game is essentially divided into 5 parts - two of them are avoidance based where you have to hide from attackers or attack them from behind, two are classic RPGM battle modes but without the large world map, opting instead of a tile based system where you move from tile to tile on set pathways. And the last mode is one of those freeroam ones where you walk around trying to find scenes (or complete the quest without lewding out the heroine too much). So it's really all experiences that one has had before but never together in the same game. There's also novel ways of dealing with situations such as timing a key just right to avoid getting hypnotized into doing something outrageously lewd. What I also love about the gameplay is that it's actually challenging. Normally, in lose-to-view games, the combat is just a side thought and it's all too easy and you don't really get a sense of the supposed corruption. However, this game just does make everything super challenging that unless you're good, you will get worn down and slip up somewhere. Adds to the excitement. And since the game isn't easy, you have to go through each portion at least twice before you can win (especially true for the RPGM one). There's also a mild clothing system in one of the modes so if that's another thing the game has got going for it. But the gameplay isn't the only thing that's refreshing and nice. The scenes themselves are animated somewhat and look really clean. Solid movement, titillating and sensual. Lots of different fetishes on display here as well.

I do have my gripes - there isn't a huge amount of content, the combat mode was tedious, could have done a lot more with the scenarios but overall, the game does what it sets out to do and does it supremely well.

Little game with some weird story and h scenes. Normally a sure bet for me but this... no.

Absolutely amazing game that's relatively short (5h to get true end) but is pack full of content with very little repetition. Scenes are animated using her ever-present 3d paper doll so there is no immersion breaking switch of art styles. You unlock customization of various aspects through progressing through the game, and there is quite a bit to customize. The story is honestly also quite good and coherent despite being AI translated.

It's impossible to sing this game's praises enough.
It has no fat, mostly all gameplay is the porn itself, the 2d images everyone has already praised and the insanely good ART as everyone said is what makes the game but it's pacing just being "choose your porn, go" also makes it. the literal only possible complain is that it's too short. This game WILL make you SHOOT HOT CUM.

Gameplay: One of the best rpgs I have played. It is forgiving enough that you can get through the game to get the true ending if you want. But if you are just a person that is interested in getting scenes then you can do that also and have fun. It goes for all style of play with the classic difficulty.

Scenes: The scenes are very wonderfully animated with the animation being very bouncy and smooth that reminds me of other games like succubus connect or Lilith in nightmare. With enough variety from people to beasts.

Overall would recommend as a game that is done right. If you are looking for a good game to play to spend your time I could not recommend more!

I think others already said most of what there is to be said.
If I had to say something, is that this is a porn game. It doesn't really pretend to be some incredible deep RPG. After the intro (10 min or so), you can just see porn after porn if you want to.
Another interesting thing is how the corruption is used. Basically, for the final fight, the higher your corruption is = the harder the fight is. I like this kind of stuff.
I'm a tad disappointed about some aspect though. Goblin den felt underwhelming compared to the other 3 door. Rabbit house could have had some more content. Mad school didn't have much content in the 2nd half.

I'd like to give this 5 stars, but while I enjoyed most of this game the performance on my PC was really bad in some areas. In a game where you are required to carefully sneak and position your character just right so you don't get caught, smooth response to keyboard/mouse is crucial. Performance was fine for 75% of the game, and during that time I had a blast. The MC is really well designed and animated, the corruption (if you are into that sort of thing) is well done, and the 4 quite different challenges present within the 4 realms gives a nice variety to play.
If this game is ever optimized so that the slowdown is no longer an issue, I'll definitely play this again. My only other complaint is that there is no oral sex (at least that I saw).

Edit: I just finished replaying this game and it had very minor performance issues compared to my previous playthrough. While I think it still missed on a few aspects...no oral!, it was a very enjoyable experience.

Fantastic and atmospheric! The entire world is beautifully consistent in keeping to its themes - the actions of the demons are horrific, violent, deadly, and frightening. From the gruesome violence of the school's monsters hunting you, to the goblins leaving corpses that have birthed too much, to the Rabbit House where women are drugged and used till they're insensate.

If you follow to the true ending, you get a look into the antagonists thoughts. Like anyone who would sell their soul for power, the worlds Rui visits are made for the selfish whims of its maker. And even though it should be clear how selfish Tsuberosu is without the extra context, having a little back story is always appreciated.

Rui stays true to herself though, no matter what happens to her. There's hardly any dialogue that involves her being broken or given into pleasure. Rui may be strong enough to kill anyone she likes, there's plenty of interesting dialogue about her aversions.

So thematically I feel like the game is about treating others well, by showing the player how disgusting the reality of pure selfishness can be.

As far as porn goes, it is truly depraved. My only complaint is that there's not enough content in the Rabbit House. More Rabbit House. More games where you can play as a bunny girl in a steamy pink space lounge please.

I'll keep it short because there are a ton of other reviews, but essentially this game definitely deserves all the 5 stars its getting. Varied gameplay, most the whole game is pretty erotic, and the ENTIRE GAME (or 99%) of it the heroine is animated with live 2D the entire time. Every single thing she does, all the harassment, all the attacks, while idle, all the movement, everything. The plot isn't great, but thats not really what you're here for.

Easily the best "corruption" type game I've ever played. It deserves even better than a 5 star rating because this is one of pinnacles of hentai games that exist right now.

The only complaint I have is that I can't skip some of the text on repeat playthroughs, but repeat viewings of scenes are taken into account and it does let you skip them if you've seen them once before, so the game never gets too dull. I don't even have most of the fetishes in this game, but the animations are so beautiful and the story is so perfectly paced that I still enjoyed most every scene. For example, even if you don't like watching goblins rape some girl, her character artwork and animations are never covered up, and are animated well enough that I can almost get off to merely watching her changing poses and expressions. (might as well note here, as others have, that this game does come with a BIG content warning. But as long as you aren't completely sickened and turned off by it, then this game makes it easy to remember that it's just fiction)
Though it's still mostly story based, the gameplay has a lot of variety, and it gives the player just the right amount of choice. It kind of feels like 4 completely different hentai games combined into one, while doing a great job at capturing each of those genres. It might also be the only "corruption" game where I couldn't immediately see through the gameplay, and it actually felt like I earned the lewd traps that I got caught in. I'd also like to note that you can save at any time, but while it's sometimes tempting to just reload an earlier save, the corruption aspect is so skillfully paced that I often found myself just deciding to take a few corruption points rather than wasting the time to go back, only to later realize that it may have added up more than expected.
All in all, almost everything about this game is perfect. It truly deserves the highest praise and recommendation.

Very good game without a single dull or tedious moment due to the good and very unique gameplay in different stages. It has every good aspect from different RPGM games and merges it into a single solid game. The fact that it is MTL (as of now) is something to worry about but ChatGPT (praise the AI-takeover) really did a solid and made it non-poetry level and understandable, pretty ok considering it was done by a machine (but still far from good.)

The heroine and the many various scenes are hot. Good use of Live2D. I suggest starting on the far left door (school) if you want the ability to transform her boobs early. Womb tattoo that grows along with corruption stages is also a hot detail. It's all animated as well. Very fappable game.

The game still has some bugs and needs a polish but just make sure to save often and you can just reload to a few minutes back whenever. The game also has a nice corruption system

NOTE: Not for the faint of heart. This is not a wholesome game by any means. Every section of the game has a different theme but it all ranges from rape, humiliation, hypnosis, mind break/control, ryonna/necrophilia (literally fucked to death in multiple occasion), bestiality, prostitution, etc. None of that sweet love-making. (no NTR though so i guess it would still be playable for most of you lol)

This game is a cut above most RPG games, and I really enjoyed it more than the bog standard of the format.

Pros:

• Art style is good to great
• Live 2D 'status' screen of the heroine on the side of the screen. If she attacks, she'll animate to show she's attacking. If she gets attacked, she'll animate accordingly to show she's taking damage. And, best of all, if she gets harrassed, the status screen will show it. If she's taken a beating, she'll have cuts and bruises. Splattered with semen? You'll see it. Honestly, this feature is fantastic.
• Customizable MC boob size. Yes, it's just limited to 3 sizes (medium, large, and extra large), but I really appreciate the option. It's a godsend for people like me who are fatigued from seeing MCs with big boobs, though that's of course just my preference.
• Customizable outer clothing, underwear, hairstyle, and hair colour of MC
• Clothing break/tearing mechanic upon accumulating enough damage
• The gameplay of each stage ('door') is varied. It's not just like your usual battle-mobs-get-money-and-XP affair that comes with most RPGM games. One level feels like Metal Gear Lite with its usage of [admittedly simple] stealth.

Cons:

• Game can be a tad short and would really have benefited from having more content
• There's some mild to moderate poetry, but to be frank it's not as though anyone with a decent grasp of English will fail to understand the gist of every line of poetry. It's better than what you expect when you hear "machine translated", seriously.
• There's a popup error screen that shows up on the top left that refuses to leave (unless you load a prior save when the popup wasn't there) when you try to purchase items from a 'shop' in one of the levels/doors. It's possible to just not buy items, but then why have the shop in the first place, right?

Excellent game. Not perfect, but I've seen plenty of games in the same format do more but achieve less.

IMPORTANT! One other reviewer pointed it out after I made this initial review, so I'll stress the same point they did: this game can and will be messed up when it comes to the content, particularly the h-content. Stuff like getting killed via sex is a thing, as is causing the MC pain and suffering (no, I don't mean consensual S&M, I mean legit pain and suffering) and having the affair be erotic in how it's portrayed. I'm almost tempted to add the fucked up nature of the game as a pro, but I'll just leave it listed in this afternote. If you're looking for a wholesome time, you will find none of that feel-good stuff here, so it will be best to look elsewhere. But if you're questionable in the head when it comes to fantasies (like me), well... say no more and play this.
