There's several different VN engines so that's a very broad topic again.
But I would assume it means you need to extract/decode the assets to a readable format yourself before you can load them into Translator++.
As to how to do that, I don't know, my field is RPGM.

That is a translation thread, not a translation-request thread. Also, how do you know it's abandoned?
His last post doesn't seem to suggest that, and he still seems active on the site, so he's not dead.
Manual translations take a very long time especially when it's done for free in their free time by a single person.

My bad, altho over 6 months inactive in that thread sounds like abandoned to me, idk if we should be waiting for him maybe another 2 years??

Personally I don't mind your MTL and yours is very good as well. I'll make translation request thread if you're okay to MTL it

I'm sorry, but I really don't want to deal with the drama. Even if he doesn't actually care and/or the translation is already abandoned, if I make a SLRMTL people will still pretend like it's now my fault there's no proper translation. (Unless he openly says it's abandoned beforehand.)

TS Quest doesn't seem to have one.

Edit: If Knight of Flame Lily Akos is anything like Akos Quest I understand why it's taking years to manually translate.
This is a giant mess.
Edit2: TS Quest is the same.
Also just the amount in general. Akos Quest has pretty much exactly 1 million characters of translateable text, TS Quest around 1.3 million. That is obviously not a problem for SLR, but manually translating that would take ages.
