I've been feeling the same.

It's not necessarily the quality but something doesn't seem as good as their older works, I think the mix of more realism with the models? I can't quite put my finger on it either.

In my opinion, it's that stupid grainy noise filter he overuses, similar to KisX. Tends to oversharpen things also. Plus, he's not rendering at high enough bitrates for 4k, and vids tends to have noticeable artifacts in them.
