Thanks Purple Reaper!

"dialogue-focused realistic BDSM porn game!" so more like dirty porn talk?
Sort of, that is one facet. The plan is to also have options to order her around, praise/rebuke behavior, etc, interspersed with the physical actions you're carrying out.

tested with Oculus, controllers doesn't work, so nothing to do...
Shoot. I was hoping that "OpenXR" would cover Oculus controls. Thanks very much for reporting this. For right now I'll edit the post (once I can) to make clear it's currently Valve Index only. Then I'll investigate and hopefully fix. There must be some trivial checkbox I didn't check, something like that.

I’ll try it out tonight (and give further feedback about Oculus controllers, using what may be a different input). But I’m put off by the focus on keeping your partner happy. It’s fantasy, man! Nobody’s harmed if we’re mean to pixels and algorithms!

Ok, Oculus problem might be fixed. I did literally have a checkbox unchecked, lol. Not able to test, but I'm 80% confident this will work. Will also add these to the OP if I can:

Yeah this is an important point, good to discuss. The blurb doesn't explain very much. The idea is that it's going to be pretty intense BDSM sessions with a pretty intense sub. "Keeping her happy" won't entail being gentle and backing off from the things you want to do. Rather, she's going to have preferences for different degrees of different things (orgasm, pain, discipline/obedience, degradation, restraint) and you should be going generally in those directions. I'm thinking of having personality presets, and/or a system where her preferences evolve from session to session, to cover different tastes. And, you will of course be able to just peg all the sliders to 10 and have a complete freak to go to town on. (It's my guess that the more nuanced personalities might be more interesting though, at least to me).

Thanks once more for reporting. That's part of the VR-controlled posing mechanism I built to help with development - should have disabled that in the release build; I'll fix that for next release. (Not sure about Oculus, but on Index it's activated by thumbstick click, which is obscure enough that I forgot it was even enabled until now).

dev saying he won't be going into patreon milking mode is promising. What are your thoughts in ai for the dialogue system

Second demo build is ready. The big new feature: a non-VR build! Other features:
  • Added hair, and so the option to take the hood off.
  • Upgraded skin shader to look a little nicer - subsurface scattering and probably some other things I don't know much about.
  • Added facial flinches.
  • Added random occasional subtle facial expressions.
  • Added sound (just riding crop impacts for now).
  • Impact collision (i.e. crop freezing near skin surface) now defaults to off for VR. It still defaults on in NonVR, where it "feels" better.
I will point out that the dialogue content is still all the same, since I had stated that I wanted to add more in the second demo. I got sidetracked by non-porn-game-development parts of my life and only really got back into it this past week. So, I wanted to get something out the door ASAP, non-VR support in particular. I expect to have way more time available for the next month at least, so next release should be more meaty.

Downloads:

Fun fact: Oculus got an order of magnitude more downloads than Index last time. I was surprised the difference was THAT large.

I'm experimenting with only using Mediafire for this one. If that doesn't work out I'll add others.

The dialogue will someday be fairly dynamic, being dependent on a personality model + current emotional state. Nothing beyond that, though, certainly nothing like GPT-3. Physical actions (both "input" and "output") will be inextricably woven in throughout the entire dialogue flow, and I expect it would be extremely hard to match that up to any kind of fancy AI text generation thing. I do think you could do amazing things with it (people already are; I think I heard of threads on 4chan or somewhere that do some sort of long-running AI-assisted interactive porn storytelling), but you would have to replace all physical interaction with typing in descriptions of your actions. Like a very fancy text adventure with illustrations rather than VR. Well maybe this could work in VR after all, if you had the game automatically generating descriptions of your physical actions in a way that the AI would respond sensibly to. But then you'd have to parse the AI's output to pick up on it describing your partner's physical actions, which would be vastly harder. Just thinking out loud here lol.

this doesnt work with my Vive controllers neither~ it doesnt seem to even track the controllers
I'm playing with a Vive headset and Vive controllers through Steam VR and I i can't seem to get controllers to show up at all.
Thank you both for the bug report! I have tried to add Vive controller support in this new demo build - if you do make your way back here and give the new version a try, I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know whether it works now.

Lovely to see a nonVR version, although I can't get the mouse to be fixed on the window, so turning around isn't working quite as it should, at least for me. Am I missing something or is this a build issue?
