I think you're wrong, when they break up, if she's with someone else, she's not cheating on him. So there is no revenge, it's called moving on with life. Usually revenge is in court, when you come out with one hand in front and one hand behind.

At the start of the game, MC seems to be interested in dating: He can become more official with V, flirt with his students, meets his new neigbor for the first time in a private, vulnerable position, gets the interest of a spy. The intent is clear: MC is done mourning his divorce and is willing to look for a new partner in his life.

But then Lily happens and going after any women who isn't with Lily is irresponsible and against common sense priorities. You fuck around when you have the freedom, you don't fuck around while you gather money for your daughters treatment. And even lustful ruthless MC isn't portrayed as someone who would put Lily under the bus for pussy, even asshole MC cares for Lily above everything.

Sure, he doesn't need to get together with Allison, but he must work with her together.

That's not what I meant. You were saying that she should have slept with someone else out of revenge. And I'm telling you that it's not revenge because when they break up they are no longer a couple. Besides, she doesn't need to because revenge is the consequences of having cheated on her, that's when the judge gives her the house, pension, etc.
