I used to prefer pure vn (cause i thought why grind if it's just a porn game) but now the one I like the most is vn with some gameplay, an example is being a dik, love of magic.

even when it comes to AAA games, when the story is boring it's nah.. but if the story is good, even the graphical is only passable, it's good.. so the novel it is..

As a developer of a world conquest porn game, I can attest that adding gaming elements to an erotic experience is hard and it has taken me almost two years to get it right. Adding gaming elements can make your game stand out and make the erotic conquests sweeter if the players feel they "earned" the sex (rather than just clicked Space enough times), but it adds a layer of complexity which can ruin the experience of your players if not done eight: no one wants to lose pussy because they are unable to beat your game.

To the OP: your question hints that you're a new game developer. My advice for your first game is to start with a VN. If you're burning to create a porn game you can always do it later, after you have grasped the basics of developing AVNs.

Good luck!

Gameplay.
Even the most well written VN just becomes a time sink. I can't spend time playing multiple at once without forgetting something crutical in another one. Beside that, I just get sick of reading text no matter how erotic the nsfw scenes are, since most contain far too much set up versus reward.
Half of this site's "games" don't even contain choices for the player to make. Worst offenders tend to be RPGs where every other step is a cutscene, with like mabye five battles springled inbetween. So yeah, gameplay is important, since why would I play another walking simulator or reading another VN. When I could get twice the reward minus all the effort from looking at hentai instead?
Games are meant to be played, not just watched or trudged through.

Wow, I'm surprised with the votes, considering how many VNs are on the site, I thought it's the other way around. LOL

I don't like pure VNs, cause I don't like reading that much off a screen, but it's fine if there ist some gameplay, even a bit of grind is fine, to mix things up :)

I like the gameplay better than visual novel games when the mechanics make sense with the theme of the game. it's harder to achieve but it's also more satisfying.
