The default reaction is negative because AI is largely a means for grifting, not a tool for people with actual talent. If you spot it your caution flags should be up. If the creator can show that they genuinely care about what they're doing it can be a different story, but most games with AI assets will continue to be zero effort scams.

If you're going to get mad every time someone uses AI then obviously only 0 effort scam devs are going to use it, because they will be the only ones who don't care about you being mad.
It's the other way around: the tech was designed to be used for zero effort scams and the results we're seeing are everything working as intended. In order to shake off our rightful assumption that a game that uses AI is garbage, the dev will need to demonstrate that they're actually putting work and care into it. We can't let our guard down because the vast majority of AI 'content' will continue to be grifts. That's how everything is looking now; if you want to find a new book you have to wade through LLM gobbledegook. If you want to find new art you have to filter out all the junk.
Not filtering isn't an option. Since anyone can produce loads of garbage anything of value is going to be buried under it. Welcome to the Future.

Love this game already. I almost never comment, but this has so much potential. You're definitely on the right track and I wish you great success in development. I'm also impressed at how you used the AI as a tool and not a replacement. I even liked the sketches you posted.

Gave it a go. It's a neat li'l game so far and quite like the art. Looking forward to future updates as it can be a lot of fun.
I realise this is a tech demo and can see some of the other stuff already, but I would like to stress that to me it is a lot of fun exactly because it is rather limited in scope and very focussed. It'd be far less entertaining to me if we first would have to grind up to the 99 stats on the char screen or would have to work our way towards the first 100g.

Calm down mate, there are some that sucks for sure but it can also be used for bringing a game that had no visuals some decent visuals or similar uses. Check how pregmod is utilising local ai to generate your slaves realtime for example. Also as you have on this website and many others, filtering out the ai stuff is literally a simple click away go to tags and exclude aicg and you're done. If you can't do that on a random website, filter by date 2021 and no more ai
It can be, but that's a very small percentage of the total and why people will knee-jerk negative. It's not unwarranted, wading through this stuff and being cautious about anything that uses it is what we're all going to have to do from now on.
