New porn computer

I have been using a separate computer for my porn for some time in order to keep anyone I let use my normal computers from seeing anything (can't find anything if it is on a different computer). My current main desktop for that is getting kinda old and I am now looking to replace it. I am expecting to have it ready by July as that should be when the OS will release.

I have picked my parts but wanted to chat with others about it and let others know about what I am doing in case it can help inspire others.

Current computer:
Ryzen 5 - 1600(12nm)
32 GB DDR4
RX 460 GPU
1 TB SATA SSD (boot drive)
32 GB SATA SSD (swap space)
4 TB and 8 TB HDD's (data)
Mint 21.3 Cinnamon

New computer -
Ryzen 7 - 8700G
64 GB DDR5
RX 780M iGPU
4 TB Crucial P3 Plus M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 x4
(swap space)
4 TB and 8 TB HDD's (data-reused)
Mint 22 Cinnamon

I will reuse the case and PSU in addition to the two HDD's that are storing most of my porn. I do keep it backed up to external drives with a fresh syncing every few months.

The reason for using the Optane SSD for my swap space is it will offload the work to a drive that does nothing besides being swap space so the controller and NAND flash on the OS disk does not have to deal with it. Also there is the fact that swap can be a lot of writes and Optane has VERY high write endurance. For context on that the Intel H10 SSD with Optane cache is listed as an endurance of 75TB written but the 118 GB Optane DC drive is 1292 TB written endurance.

Since I like to leave it running for a few weeks between reboots and I am switching to using the more energy effecient APU over a CPU/GPU combo means more memory will need to be installed as the 780M intigrated graphics uses system memory instead of having it's own dedicated VRAM. So that is why I am going with 64 GB to start with and I am conidering an upgrade to 128 GB down the road along with using an entire 118 GB Optane SSD for swap space.

Sounds like extreme overkill for 98% of porn games. Basically anything not Unreal Engine.
I have started to play "Last Hope" that is Unreal and I think one other game in my collection is Unreal and I have a few that are Unity as well.

Plus I am going from a dedicated video card to integrated graphics. The amount of memory is high but I do like to leave it seeding my porn torrents as the site I use gives credits for seeding.

just get a external hdd for porn games, that way you keep it on the same comp without making space for another, you can get 5tb for around £80-100

How long will that new computer last you ?
Why not combine the 8700G with a X670 motherboard ?

The build looks clean overall with the black aesthetics + the RGB on the ram

I already have one 4 TB and one 8 TB external HDD's for backup. That is in addition to the 4 TB and 8 TB internal HDD's. So the large boot drive is because it is not that much more cost for me and larger SSD's have longer time before the NAND flash starts to ware out. I will continue to run the games off of the SSD and use the HDD's for cold storage. Though "King of single drive capacity" goes to the Seagate EXOS 20 TB in my HTPC. Picked that up refurbished for $230. It being used is not a problem because I can re-rip my DVD's and Blu Ray's if it dies.

RGB is something I do not want. Since this computer lives in my bedroom and I leave it running 24/7 to seed my porn torrents I even go so far as to not plug in the case's power and drive activity LED's onto the motherboard headers. The RAM having RGB is not going to be a problem as the case is a Corsair Carbide Series 100R Silent Edition that has a solid side panel. I do not want rainbow unicorn puke going full blast as I am trying to sleep.

As for the motherboard I had not even looked as the previous generation of AMD "X" boards have active cooling fans on the chip set and since it will be running 24/7 I do not want that as those have a history of failing. But I did some checking and found they do not have cooling fans on all of the X670's I looked at so I will be checking those out.
