Okay, so, I am extremely confused as to how to progress in this game.
I appreciate the fact that there are different things to do, and things to follow, so to speak.. but aside from speaking to the NPC's here and there and doing a couple quests, I seem to be stuck
The only place I have managed to explore fully is the valley, where thankfully monsters do not attack, but there are several things that the game has mentioned that I don't seem to be able to find.
Firstly, the son if you speak to him talks about a ghost story in the burn village. I have went there and explored every nook and cranny that I could find there. but to no avail. Also, I've read here that to gather one of the ingredients you need to make the medicine for the injured sailor, you need to get it in the forest area. When I go to the forest area, a bear shows up to which I seem to not be able to do anything against.
The guy before the area talks about honey for the bear, but thus far I have not seem to be able to find any recipes for honey? Also tried to go to the mountain cave and said I need a light, which I assume I need to craft.
The old man also speaks about some memory points, I don't really want to engage in his questline because it doesn't really interest me so I'd like to do it the normal way but where can I even get those points?
I'd appreciate any guidance, I'm interested in this game and seems like it has potential but it is very non-user friendly.

Make sure you are looking at that sign for the side quests and looking in the pause screen for what the quest are made of. It helps you on the hints.
For the honey you need to craft a pot. Try to craft the things with the star as soon as you can. There is a lady that will trade books on crafting for fish and recipes with mystery meat (frog that you trap with the small trap). I recommend saving before you cook the mystery meat ingredients because she is picky.
The first cooking book comes from a fish. She seems picky here to and it is random. I had to give up 2 big fish. The next 3 or 4 books is for giving her cooked food with the mystery meat. Again it is random. I cooked all the types and she only wanted the Stew and the grilled one. That is why it is good to save the game before you cook or fish for her so you are not wasting time.

porn logic : you can find metal scraps to forged an iron plate ,to make saws bowls pots and pans and axes etc , but you have to fuck an old man to get a propeller ???? .........Real logic : Make your own damn propeller if you can forge
bad game logic you can make a saw and an axe but you can't make a blade to kill snakes and other critters ?
bad scripting why not just kill off the husband , if the first attempt didn't work

while you are still playing the guy you search the island for survivors talk to all of them then you go fishing on the pier with your kid
from then on you play as the wife and you can do things to improve your situation
where to find the propeller because that old man only lie about having it to get what he wanted.

When you finally get deep into the mountain, you can get emeralds and other things which will get many memory points when you put them in his chest.
