VN - Ren'Py - Abandoned - Midlife Crisis [v0.34 - v0.1 Dark] [Nefastus Games]

The good:

-The dev seems awesome and isn't threatening me with the FBI for not sending him money yet and so I likely will.
-The story while fairly generic is written really well in comparison to so much of the engrish based illogical weirdness that constitutes a considerable percentage of these games.
-Very liberal on the spread of MC proclivities (at least within the incest/harem category) while allowing you to choose what you want to see or not.
- Updates! Like, omg, on the regular. For reals... Sadly, I'm sure the Dev will soon develop a grave illness, get busy at work, have a significant family tragedy or suffer burn-out which will lead to a long series of unfufilled promises followed by radio silence, followed by no updates and a perpetuity of $80 a month from people who can't remember who they give their credit card numbers to.

The bad:

Well, the graphics.

I'm sure this was unintentional, but because of how bad the characters look, the MC appears to have hair plugs (which actually kind of fits with the theme). I can't think of one character I'm attracted to except the redhead. The wife isn't too bad, but not my kink. Maybe it's what's made me slow down a bit and actually read some of the story.

The ugly:

The youngest daughter looks like a badly rendered meth'd out hooker who's boobs have inverted.

The niece looks like someone cloned a (18??year old??) version of Donald Trump with a vagina - at least based on the orange tan.

The renders look like it was a one-pass endeavor on a x386 with 1mb of RAM.


...and still four stars. It's that good.

I hope that once the dev gets a great rig and figures out how to make hot characters that he starts again from scratch. I also fear that day. History says that he will contract ebola shortly after the announcement of the remake.

I would definitely recommend this game if youre i to these type of games. You have control over the names, age (18+), and you get multiple choices for scenes youre into and ones youre not into. Wish more games had these options. I was always hesitant to try it because of the renders but in all honesty once you play the actual game they are pretty good. Keep up the good work and writing.

the author deserve 5/5 for all the work he has been through. The game is very long and not half assed at all. The love interest all have their own personnality as well as their own fetishes. I wish the game was more famous i really anticipate the updates that are coming!!!

This uses all the same old DAZ models as so many other games. Along with those over used models it has some really bad texture/lighting/rendering issues. I'll give it some points for not using the cookie cutter plot of "you're a teenage boy at home with a house of females (which because of a certain funding site's rules are always labeled as "landlord" or "friend" forcing you to patch them, or the dialogue won't make sense). The character development was... umm... mediocre, I guess. It certainly isn't something that will enthrall you.

• visuals: good, with some bugs: lighting issues, clipping issues, jarring animation
• story: great, more believable than most
• kink: excellent, love the sister and loli niece that visit

definitely worth a wank or 2, if you like some of the tags

The website tells me that I need at least 200 characters, so guess I'll write an actual review.
Story - pretty good so far. I like that it isn't cliched, at least in the realm of porn games.
Characters - not the usual young protagonist or very hot older guy, which is good in my book. The girls also seem to be interesting in their own ways.
Visuals - the dev warns that the renders in the beginning are off and I can see why. Not really a problem though, since the models are pretty hot.
Dialogue - sounds like something humans would actually say, big plus there.

my by far fav girls:

- the young red head
- the older sister
- the secretary

the "escort girl" is finde aswell as the mother and the sister-in-law.

the rest is visually meh and not pleasing for me personally.

the renders look a bit bugged.

the most annoying thing: if i reject girls, like the small girls with no curves, i STILL have scenes and options everytime even the game tells me no romance i can still romance them all the time. totally annoying. its like the game wants me to fuck the little flat cheasted girls, but i don't want to! - and a tad too much POV (i thing i absolutely hate in real life porn)

the dialogues are quite nice written and sometimes really hot.


i sometimes don't have the feeling to be the dad, and that i am forced to play certain scenes or make out with all girls more or less... i still couldn't fuck the older, curvy daughter

Was feeling bored one late evening and thought ok, so, this game looks like a crap from the preview images but what the hell, it has an incest patch so lets give it a try. Next time i looked at the clock it was 11 a.m. on the next day, good thing it was the weekend. Nuff said.

Few things i think i should point out:

- Game really improved graphically after some time. Old daughter lost her succubus eyes, and everyone got a much nicer looking skin. Was only playing for the content, now playing for both content and looks. Looks like the author is learning the ropes on the go (and he is doing really well). Wish he finds the time at some point to rerender the beginning of the game so ppl dont get turned off by the poor visuals thinking it will stay that way all the way through

- There's NO pretentious, boring storyline you have to suffer through in order to get some booty. Every scene is there for the sake of sexiness/teasing or to increase your affection with the characters (your REAL affection, not an in-game stat that goes from 1 to 100, thank goodness, no such crap here)

- Even though i enjoyed exchanging insults with the old fat bitch (the wife), i at some point almost cried and felt like starting over to go for the love route with her. Maybe in the next playthrough though, guess we'll keep exchanging (friendly) insults for now i just no longer wish i could kick her out from the house, hope she stays.

Guess i could have given the game a more relevant review, but it hardly matters, all that matters is - go try the game - its awesome!

One hell of a juicy story. You can be loving husband or hedonistic father figure for many many women and girld. At least in this game our Mc is looking belivable and realistic. Beginning from his less muscular fram to not huge dick but not small too. Besides that we have many choices to satisfy our kinks.
There is a dick girl for those interested too. Little girls for borderline crime like relationships and more. I must admit that this game made me excited in ways I didn't think were possible. Besides the plot even if sex oriented as it is. Its deep. Like penetration of many girls. Play it and if you are not disgusted then love it like me. Good job dev

The story and models used are ok, but I can see some glitches in the renders and bad (lazy) animations. These two things could could be better and they would add up to the quality of this game.
Then there is something very weird which is the size of the game comparing to other games and the amount of content: V0.14 = 5Gb; V1.0 = 500Gb?

Review:
The story of the game is to be good in certain parts, I got to a point where I stopped reading and moved on. In fact, I had lost a little interest, as many things didn't seem to fit. You are a married, fat and ugly man, who is already in his 40s, and who lives with his wife, who is also ugly and fat and has the same age, along with her two daughters (who are beautiful and hot). The story doesn’t have this character relationship building, you don’t feel like you’re enticing your daughters, but yes, you are, in a totally a little ridiculous way. Some scenes in the story are totally bizarre, they are scenes with your daughters for example. You are not a kind of hero for them, you are just gradually convincing and corrupting them.
There is not much to grind, or not, because it is a simple VN where most choices are to accept or refuse. Some fetishes are implemented, and many of them are exaggerated. Putting on a "Loli" character didn't look good, at least for me, and it didn't make much sense. Some fetishes can't skip and others you can refuse.

Final Rating:
I played for the first time and in the first few minutes I liked the content presented, however when we get to the middle of the game you start to be a little disappointed. The game is good, it’s not those bad games, but it’s kind of disappointing (but this is my opinion and like it). I liked the expression of characters, not having appeared young, big dick and be a handsome guy. But some fetishes of this game are exaggerated, some content of the story is a little out of the standard. I really liked the two daughters, I liked their renders and their visuals. But that's just what I liked about the game, the rest I didn't.

At first, I expected just another incest game. But this game is different. The lighthearted humor got me hooked, and makes the game quite fun. The MC is a likable fellow, who actually seems to care about the women in his life, and always respects their consent (as he manipulates them into sex). At first, I was put off by the looks of the younger daughter, but in time, I came to like her looks, and appreciate a game where the women are outside of the typical stereotypes.

Review v0.14:
If you want to make the distinction between adult games and porn games, this one is definately a porn game. Not because the story is really bad (it isn't) but because sex is definately the main attraction here. That said, the story does make sense in the context, it's just not the type of game that you play for the sake of the story alone.

Basically you are playing a middle aged successful guy, with two young "wards", who suddenly gets very popular with the girls. Not that interesting in itself, but it creates a logical backdrop for some very hot scenes so I'm fine with it.

The characters are quite diverse, and all of them are well done. The preview renders don't do this game justice, the dev has seriously improved his skills since beginning this game, and the renders seem from the very first release. I consider the renders on par with the better Daz games, although maybe not with the absolute top.

Personally this is a game which really "does" it for me. Hot scenes, nice characters, good story.

All in all, there is a lot to like and nothing to dislike, so it get's 5 stars from me.

Love this game, Story is great, animations are lacking but Nefastus is just trying to solve that problem and for me the story is perfect. older/younger , hot, lots of action, can't go wrong. Looking forward to the rework and animations and just the countining story. Time to go on a trip to my sisters ...

Randomly came across the game yesterday and gave it a try. I ended up playing all the way through the available content (v.012 at the time) and enjoyed every minute of it.

Renders
The renders (as mentioned in several reviews) are not as polished as some other games here, but as the content progresses they continue to improve. I appreciate that the dev is continually working on improving. If you look at any artist's early work vs current, you can see no one starts out with a perfect product. I don't feel they detract from the game at all. The models are refreshingly non-generic. It gets a little tedious constantly seeing the same models used in games and it is always nice to see devs put their own spin on them.

Story
Story is what you'd expect to find from a VN incest/harem type game. There isn't a ton of depth, but the character arcs are sufficiently different to make you feel each girl is distinct. The writing is well done and carries the game and the different character arcs engagingly. I love the humor in the game... from the breaking of the 4th wall to some of the self-deprecating humor the dev puts in, I found myself laughing on several occasions.

Gameplay
It is a pretty straightforward VN without any grinding. The choices are pretty self-explanatory and enough effect on the story to make them useful.

Sex Scenes
Non-animated but well done and the writing around them is great. The interactions of the characters leading up to and through the scenes really carries the game along well.

Characters
Touched upon it above but they are well done and distinct enough to make experiencing their story lines enjoyable. The MC is your typical every-man... middle-aged, unhappy with life, and reevaluating everything (thus the game title). He's likeable, self-deprecating, and funny and all the various love interests cover the gamut of what you find in these games. You've got the wife, daughters, sister and her daughter, your secretary, prostitute friend and her friend, and daughters friends to romance (or not) as you progress through the game.

I've truly enjoyed the content that is currently available and will be tossing some $ to the dev on Patreon. I want to see this game continue and succeed and feel the game is worth your time if you are at all interested in the harem/incest games with some fun humor tossed into it.

Wow, this game is awesome! I was hesistant to even try it, looking at the pictures, but glad I did. It's great, funny, not grindy, not too texty, pretty much perfect. I would easily rate it as a top3 game I've played here, and I've played allot!
The pictures do improve as you progress in the game, and the chars are quite sexy.

The game have allot of taboo, but it is always warned about, and easily avoided.

An amaizing game, It give me really good feelings at the beggining and it has not make me regret play it. I really enjoy the game, love the girls, the plot and the different choises. I totally recommend you to play this game.

The thing that makes this game stand out in my opinion is the humor. It genuinely makes me laugh out loud sometimes. The dev is very talented in writing. The story is interesting and long enough. The teasing is hot and the right amount. The characters have unique personalities. Can't praise it enough. Been following this game for a couple of months, but the first time I played it back in summer, I was pleasantly surprised. Give it a try, it's worth your time, trust me!

I was debating between 4 and 5 stars but went with 5 because I really did enjoy this VN.

First, I need to state that I do not normally enjoy the typical incest games with vanilla romance and such. When incest games take themselves too seriously, it just feels too cringy to me. Naturally, my playthrough here was just picking all the most pervy and man whore choices to see where it takes you. I was not dissapointed. The writing is competent enough to not make the perv MC(tm) too cringy. This VN plays very well as a harem game (thought you can also pick 1 or combinations of girls to pursue).

This is a game that is very much self aware of all the tropes of its genre. There is a cameo of our boy Max and his typical grinding adventures lol. The game is also very much aware of its shortcomings in rendering/lighting/etc and makes multiple 4th wall breaking jokes at its own expense. I thought it was pretty funny. In fact, the game is pretty funny in general. I like the homage to old classics as he MC sings in his car. The MC's expression while he monologues on the porch is weirdly comical.

The writing is good as far as grammar and natural flow of the dialogue goes. Can't really tell how good it is on a technical level as far as story telling goes, but the VN is a pretty light hearted no bullshit romp, so it's not exactly demanding of some masterful plot.

The characters are fun with most of them having distinct personalities. The MC is pretty likable in a goofy way. You can play him as an unabashed perv, but he will still keep some basic morals. No rape, no forcing, no "evil" shit. All of girls are sexy little minxes. One girl goes through some drama and you are there to rescue her. I loved the sister and niece plotlines. It was so damn hot. Younger daughter and her friend is a giant tease. Older daughter is reserved with voyeuristic tendencies. There are more minor chars to fool around with also.

Renders are where most people would dock points from probably. Even though the game doesn't have the greatest look to it, it isn't so bad that it will kill your enjoyment of the game. Its fairly average if anything and does its job. The models are all pretty unique as far as I can tell. I like the models and there are quite a lot of variety in body types.

Sex scenes do not have animations. It uses slideshow technique for in and out motions. I honestly don't mind it and could care less about animations. I am more interested in dialogue during scenes and this VN got that part right. There are some very steamy dialogue!

Gameplay is VN style. No grinding. No repeating events. Good progression. One thing to note is that the game doesn't present obscured choices that might jeopardize your relationship with anyone. Harem game is haram.

*** This game uses a secret tech that lets you customize the age of the girls. Of course, you want to keep it sensible to match their models/story, but you can push the boundaries a bit if you are so inclined. There are many calls during the dialogue where the age pops up and it adds an extra layer of excitement.

This is one of the few games that really develop the incest part of a relation.

Cons: Medium quality renders, with some annoying clipping.
Pro: Funny dialog, great approach of incest, nice protagonist.
