VN - Ren'Py - Abandoned - Midlife Crisis [v0.34 - v0.1 Dark] [Nefastus Games]

Wow, I put off playing this game for a long time mostly because of the low version number, thinking its content amount was probably not much. I couldn't have been more wrong, this thing has more content already than some of the completed VN i've played.

- Has a good variety of fetishes and the dev does a great job in how they give you the option to avoid any fetishes you don't find appealing
- The dialogue and story are great and easy to follow, has a good pace to it.
- Models aren't the best i've seen but they definitely aren't the worst plus the story helps you make a connection with them.

TL;DR One of the better VN i've played in a while, I like the story and pacing. Just the right amount of tease and dialogue options to tweak the story to my liking.

Not the best art, but a far more entertaining (and substantial) storyline than almost any games here. It offers a considerable amount of choice within its parameters and some of the best sex scene descriptions of any game I have played. It is a bit of a slow burn with some characters, but that is intentional as teasing is part of what it offers and there's no repetitive grinding.

Initially I wasn't keen on involving the wife in any of the shenanigans, but I have to say that I was eventually persuaded to bring her on board with Hailey and Sarah and haven't regretted it.

Very good game with excellent story. Renders could be better but they are compensated by good story. Characters are consistent with their written personalities. Writing has nice dorky humor. And did I mention good story.

This game is the definition of "it gets better". At the start of the game you're faced with ugly visuals, ugly girls you don't care about, an offputtingly ugly mc, bad animations, poor writing, and sex scenes which turn you off. By the time I finished with the current version (v0.32), the visuals had improved, the girls looked better and had more character, the mc looked better, the bad animations had been scrapped, and the writing was dramatically better, especially in the sex scenes which were hot asf. Indeed, the game essentially turned into a fuck fest, with long, hot, sex scenes interspaced with short asides to advance relationships and the plot. And I'm more than okay with that. Some of the girls definitely looked inappropriate to me; I strongly dislike when that occurs, because if you avoid romancing those characters you miss out on their interactions with other girls. But the writing in the sex scenes has to be praised as some of the hottest descriptive stuff on the AVN market, though at times there was too much. I'm giving this 5 stars because it doesn't take that long for the game to get good, and once it does it is excellent in what it is trying to do.

the scrip and story of this game are awesome, this game have morb, action, humor, romance all in a perfect balance i´m hop we could see the end of this incredible story, the game manage very diferents ways to present the god and evil in and beyond of ethic, i loved the scrip of relations, you need take you time to taste the wole story.

Hands down the best game i have played!
At first i thought i would not like playing a porn game as a dad, but god damn is this mc the most likeable character i have played as. I mostly skip the story in these types of games, but in this game interactions can be so funny and interesting, and how fast everything moves a long in terms of sex scenes, makes it perfect to enjoy the game to the fullest.

Now speaking generally about scenes, animations, etc. the game would be a 4/5, because sometimes the cg might not be perfect, and animations are rather rare, and i would like to see more angles, and sometimes i also wish there were options to choose from various different things you want to do with the girl and different poses in sex. If all of that were to be taken care of, it would be absolutely perfect, but besides that i still rate it 5/5, because the game is simply amazing, funny, not at all creepy, gives you tons of choices to make for an amazing playthrough just for you, there are a lot of fetishes covered, from vanilla to almost heavy stuff, for me almost everything was good, nothing too kinky, but just enough, and thankfully the sharing is fully optional, so you can keep all the girls to yourself.
Well maybe more feet stuff and more trap content would be great too.
So lastly i have to say again - GOD DAMN This was an amazing game so far, thank you for the great work Devs!

This game is similar to Parental Love. Theres no narrative of sorts per say. The story is wholly focused on building a harem for the MC. I've gone the harem romance route but theres other content like sharing, cuckold, trans etc if you're interested.

Now what i do enjoy about Midlife Crisis is, just like Parental Love, the dev does put in effort to make the women receptive with the idea of a harem. Therefore the process feels natural and believable. You'd have to play it to understand.

So far i'm enjoying the direction of the harem narrative. The bouts of comedy(sexual and dad jokes) is entertaining, unlike some VNs that bombard with lame jokes and cringe humor. I particularly like the interactions between the characters, the writing is really good, its organic and the banter during lewd scenes is hot. That said the sex stuff is between vanilla and mid tier, theres variety to cater to many fetishes but none too hardcore.

This VN has a beautiful cast of characters both in terms of looks and personality. They each have unique quirks and identity. How their character develops through the relationship with the MC is the highlight of this VN. Love the chemistry they have with each other. I don't want to spoil it but this game probably has the most colorful set of characters.

Now the models, renders and animations are kinda dated, it is a 2018 game afterall. You'll be able to look past that if you played through a couple of chapters. I appreciate how each character is modelled so differently to each other, they have specific archetypes(including personality) so will appeal to wide range of preferences. Although i sometimes wonder what these characters will look like in a rework with upgraded renders but i prefer for the dev to finish the game first.

Give this game a try. Initially i wasnt that keen on this genre of adult VNs but after pushing myself through half the game, i stayed for the long haul. Be reminded again that this game needs you to endure a few chapters first though.

[v0.32] You're a successful businessman with a loving family. You make an effort to spend more time with your family and in the process begin to fall into depravity with them and their friends. The characters are all likeable. Some of them are on the younger side but never look TOO young. Renders and lighting aren't great, and most animations are stiff. What this game lacks in presentation it makes up for with well written characters, ridiculously kinky situations, and a funny MC. A fun game for sure!

I was disappointed with this one. It gives some choices that has little to no impact, not sure why they are there and then some where you get to choose between 2 bad choices.

The Dev obviously pushes people to choose what he wants them to and ignores ones he doesn't like.

Early on you have some choices one of which warns you that it means no more sex events with the wife which is what I wanted, I have no interest in the nasty hag, only to have her thrown at you again and again to the point the Dev wants you to hook up one of the other girls with her. Why would I want to do that when I don't want the wife even involved? However if you choose not to the Dev punishes you by cutting content.

Same thing happens when you visit sister. You're given the choice of including the boyfriend ( more than 1 dick involved is too many for me) or including the wife (yet again) but no option for one on one with sister, you simply get nothing.

If you play nice guy and don't push Christine to have sex in the hotel before she's ready then your first time with her is next to her friend, no option for just one on one again.

I get the Dev prefers group stuff and some is fine but it's over done here. The worst thing about this V/N is the Dev makes sure you play the way he wants you too. In that case he should remove the choices and make it a linear kinetic novel, it basically is one anyway. Instead he gives the illusion of choice but ignore ones he doesn't like.

One of the Best VN's yet. Graphics get better and better. Story is amazing. The cover picture does not do the game justice. Looking forward to see where thia game enda up and more from this talented Dev!

For a game that is now in year 5 of development (initially posted November 2018), it shows its age, but if you are looking for a light-hearted, friends-and-family oriented harem game with lots of fappable content, this is a solid choice.

The Good ()

• Good diversity of girls with different personalities, body types and overall looks
• A ton of H-scenes with the main and side characters -- hard to go more than ~5 minutes without a scene of some sort
• Lots of story content
• Somewhat interesting / compelling story, if shallow in a lot of places

The Not-So-Good ()

• The art style/ graphics are quite dated
• Stilted / poorly done animations (so far into my playthrough)
• Little to no sound design / effects
• MC quickly assumes the role of unassailable womanizer / player with little to no negative consequences (so far into my playthrough)
• Very little drama leading into H-scenes, even with brand-new characters

I'm not invested in the characters or story but happy to play it for the plentiful H-scene content.

In my eyes this is a very good game. deep personas. There are good graphics, and starts in a reasonable way. It goes a bit far in the ways of a harem for me, but its emotional, and there are man scenes.

Come for the faps, stay for the comedy. I don't think I have ever laughed as hard to any game (porn or regular). Just when I'm getting into the dialogue between scenes of... (≖ ͜ʖ≖) well you get the picture... then all of a sudden >BAM!< There's a 1-liner or some other kind of not so subtle joke made and I'm laughing so hard I start seeing stars. Real good shit here.

One of my top 3 currently running VN's. I really enjoy this one. No special story, but human interaction that is easy to follow, decent characters, good art, a simple slice of imaginary life.

Probably the biggest potential ding is no animation. But, like Sisterly Lust, it rises above that limitation and has scenes far hotter than many animated competitors.

Highly recommended.

I kind of wish there was a 3.5 because I'd give this one just above average... but not by much.

Renders are generic and sometimes bad.
Some characters look weird.
Even for a generic story, I found myself always skipping to just see the sex content.

Conclusion:
Slightly above average, lots of sexual fetishes and content for a good fap time. But overall just bland.

Last words:
I had a good time. Like screwing a hooker. But would probably not call her again unless she was the only option. (lol)

Pros:

• Fast paced action with lots of good looking ladies.
• Interesting relationship advancement, though a bit stale after the first 5 or so girls

Cons:

• MC looks like he's in his late 50s, not early/mid 40s. Early game he's supposed to be a bit more dumpy, but his neck and jowls hang down and flop like a much older person, and really look bad. They don't improve even in the end of current update.
• Forced Cuck - even after choosing not to cuck the sister's partner, you're still forced through scenes that do exactly that. Not cool, and a big turn-off.
• renders are not good until near the end of the latest updates, but do start to improve somewhat at the pool sceen @ Rock's house.
• No animation, so the scenes get too clicky/dialogue thick and can detract from the enjoyment.

I was going to rate this as a 4, since I do enjoy the VN, but with all those cons I guess it needs to lean down a little for now. Hopefully this improves as the game progresses.

One of the few visual novels I've found on F95 that doesn't contain any animations yet makes up for it with excellent writing and rendered images. The author really sucks you and puts in the drivers seat of an excellent incest story.

A good example of how the writing along with your imagination is more than enough to get you where you want to go, with a story that is good enough that you can successfully suspend disbelief regarding a man successfully wooing his entire family.

Excellent game! Nice story, lots of humour which I especially love. Some great drama in this. All in all a very nice game, plenty of choices.

There's the odd graphical problem, but they are minor and sometimes even the DEV makes fun of his issues which I get a kick out of. Worth all 5 stars. Keep up the good work!

A rare game where you can play as a decent bloke. No cameras, drugs, blackmail or guilt tripping.
Tbh this is less of a game and more of an interactive and illustrated erotica but as a story it's one of the good ones.

Good:
-beautiful female characters that still manage to look belivably realistic
-wide variety of characters, both in appearance as well as in character
-everything is optional. There is sharing as well as netori, loli and futa, but everything is pretty clearly marked and 100% optional.
-a few memes, not overdone
-good English
-generally well written
-the fat gay character isn't purely a joke and mostly played straight (heh), which is a nice touch
-tons of content so far. Literally hours.

Less good:
-dialogue can drag a bit from time to time
-gets a bit repetetive in the later parts
- no animations
-MC is ugly as sin

Verdict:
You should probably download and play this, unless you are gay or need NTR to get off.
