Devs set up for sequels all the time, does not always mean they can afford to make one. But maybe I am thinking too much about non-patreon, non-porn games here, I have a lot more experience with those.

its a team working on this with multiple finished games so expect the story to be completely finished

Blurred != ai art

It may be that is just a correction or a WIP made within Photoshop and the artist just forgot about it when delivered the final product (image in this case). Not every "glitch" MUST be ai art.
