Japanese visual novels and dating sims are setup different from games like this, they tend to create a large number of backgrounds, a limittted number of special event scenes and a LOT of character drawings. For most of the story, the character art is shown over the backgrounds with small changes to the image to show emotions.

It is fairly primitive but very effective.

This game like many of its sort uses full 3D renders to move the story forward playing more like a photo novel. And while it works it is clearly very costly. 100 images the author claims exist in the demo, yet it has only a few minutes of game play.

If the author makes another 100 renders, a hell of a job, the game might just stretch to 10 minutes. For very slow readers.

With so little play time, the author already managed to set several different paths (avoid brother, talk, respect privacy in show, brother is a pervert, both are perverts). The younger sister hasn't even woken up yet, the mysterious stranger has not shown up yet.

Maybe the creator can pull it off but I strongly suspect this one will have few monthly updates and then peter out to only a few routes going anywhere before it is abandoned.

And a pity because what their is is quite decent if a little wordy with far to much exposition, introducing characters in a prologue and telling me how they feel? That makes me so angry!

So far the biggest thing i like is the grammar and storytelling pace. Even though there is not that much content to go on i can definitely tell this has much better language than most other games, no offense to other games.
If this is any indication it seems the pace of the story won't be terrible or just like some script some high-school freshman wrote.
The only thing that needs to be done is change font or do something so we get a visual difference if Lily is talking out loud or thinking. I'm sure it was just overlooked since this is only a small demo.
I would call this a good start with great story telling potential. I can't complain with the genre since i do like incest stuff (don't judge me, its fictional & turns me on). Like most people i hope it doesn't have any ntr stuff or at least a path with no ntr or heavy cheating.

The new version is really nicely done - one of the best intros I have seen. A hell of a lot of renders for such a short time period, and a lot of branching choices. The dev will need to be careful it doesn't get out of hand.

With this amount of character detail, I suspect future choices may become quite emotionally impactful, which is great!

This is definitely one to watch.

Hey, everyone.
I'm the developer of this game. Great to meet you all.
Thanks first off to the O.P. for giving this game some focus. I get where they are coming from, short game, ect.
To let you know, as well as to address some of the concerns listed in the original post, this is not an idle project or something that will eventually fade out. I've invested thousands of dollars of my savings into putting together the equipment and software resources to develop this game, and I will stick with it. I get exactly what they mean, I've seen many games, some with a lot of promise, fade out. This one won't. So yes, it's short, but it's only a couple versions into what might possibly be 10 or more versions before I reach the final complete game.
For those that are willing, I do work on this game daily, and post at minimum a weekly update of my progress on the Patreon site that's referenced in some of the posts in this thread. Feel free to browse that page any time you'd like. No registration is needed to see the public posts, and my official releases will always be free. Patreons who support me financially do get the game a few days early, but I don't want money to drive the site or the game, I want people to enjoy the game, I get a lot more out of that.

Thanks again to Redking and Berny for the publicity, and thanks to all of you for trying it out.

Yes, the bug was caught a little while ago and posted on my main dev site. I've corrected it and re-released as version 0.2b. Same link to get there.

After finishing the game and seeing that the developer is here, here are my thoughts.

I actually had to play the game a second time to find out what it was exactly that bothered me while playing the game, but I think I found it.
You're wasting too much time on unimportant things. While changing, jogging, going to work etc. you have several images with descriptions that are not that interesting to look at and read. I never really got into a "flow" while playing the game. My advice would be: Focus more on dialogues, this is much more interesting to read and it's also easier to develop the story and relationships that way. If you don't know about it already, have a look at this.

This is of course a very subjective opinion, but maybe you can do something with it.

Storywise, it's still very early, so I don't really have an opinion. The different paths are certainly impressive for a 0.2 version. I really hope you know what you're doing though and that you can handle all the different paths in future versions. It certainly won't get easier.
Also, I really like that your game doesn't feel like porn game so far, more like an erotic novel and that we don't play a horny teenager.

I hope this doen't sound too negative, I do think your game has potential, and your previous post here sounds great. So I'm definitely gonna follow your game and am looking forward to future updates.

Seems good, might give this a go :)

How's the "romance" in game, though? Are we able to pursue different characters or is it all set in stone?

Berny, I welcome the subjective opinions and criticism, that's one of the main reasons I'm posting the game in installments as I develop it, to get suggestions on what people would like to see, and ideas to improve it. I'd either be overly egotistical or an idiot to assume I know everything I need to, and don't need any help. Learning is something that continues until the day we die, if we're wise about things. I glanced through that wiki post, I'll spend more time reading through it, it does look quite constructive. There are a lot of paths early as well, but I'm approaching it like I do with my real life program development. I have careful notes, flow charts, plans, and projections of future paths, all documented. And my reason for approaching so many different paths so early actually answers YuriNeko's question. There will be several different characters for Lily to engage romantically, and a lot of it will be up to the player's preference. Lily's first sexual scene in the game will be with whomever the player would like, based on their earlier choices, whether they're following more of the brother, sister, or friend path in Lily's day. This early point in development is introducing the various characters in Lily's life, and play going forward will follow one of those three paths, with some potential for mixing paths a bit.

Well, how do I make a game the playerbase will enjoy if I don't bother to hear what they have to say? I use my main dev page, my Patreon site, to interact with others, get their input and suggestions, and keep this growing in a way that hopefully will please the most people possible (I'm not crazy enough to think I'll ever please everyone.)

review:
story 7/10: at first seems like the tipical "i already saw it 1000 times" type of story, but it's well written with a nice pace. even if the scene at the toilet bar it's a little "forced" and lose some of the "kinda like real life" vibe that the game show before.
art 7/10: it's really nice and pleasurable. But some poses results are a little stiff and sometimes the quality drops a little like when she goes to work and she's out of the elevetor.
overall: 10/10 cause the caffe haz my name. jokes aside seems like a game to looking foward to.. we'll see

As a terrible film I was forced to watch once said .. well, forced is a strong word, I was promised sex afterwards (which I didn't get on account of the film sending me to sleep) .. if you build it, they will come or cum, whichever.

Point being, you have a good start, better than a lot of others we see here.

I read you invested a lot to get going and here is why I commented. Don't be disheartened if building a following takes a bit of time. The downside of Patreon is it's been exploited quite a lot by less than honest developers.

Some of us have backed games that have been left abandoned. Most of the time they disappeared without a word so far only one had a reason none of us could argue with.

I say this because I wouldn't want you losing hope. As development moves along and people see progress they will be more likely to support you.

After seeing a lot of devs use Patreon to make a quick buck it's left a lot of us with a bitter taste so some folk are slower to jump on projects.

Gomly, thanks for the kind words. My primary reason to be on Patreon is not for the money, although I'd be lying if I said I wasn't grateful for the support that people do offer there. My primary reason is that it's really the perfect platform for reaching a lot of people, easy to keep updated, and obviously, the biggest benefit is that if people do feel so inclined, they can choose to support me financially.
That being said, the one and only reason I mentioned the financial investment I've made to create this game, as well as more in the future, is to reiterate just how committed I am to making this succeed. Will it be perfect? Of course not, compared to a lot of game developers out there I'm still an amateur. Releasing early revisions on Patreon is a great way to improve the game beyond what I'm capable of, by getting everyone's feedback. And this is my first game, so I know I have a lot to learn.
I get what you're saying about games that start out, look good, then disappear, I've been a fan of this game medium for many years, and supported a few financially myself. I've seen that happen more times than I can remember. I only decided to give it a try myself after teaching myself a bit of Ren'Py usage to assist another game developer with translating his game dialog into English.
So for any and all those out there who are thinking of supporting me, your words are going to mean a whole lot more than your dollars, any day. I'm here to produce a game, hopefully brighten up your lives a little bit, and most of all to have some fun watching this develop. And I'll tell you, hard as it is at times when something won't work the way I want it and I'm bashing my head against a wall, I'm having a blast. I'll always back that up by releasing the game free, no month wait for those who don't pay, and most of my posts on Patreon will be public, so no one should ever feel they have to pay anything to enjoy the game, feel left out because they can't see what's going on, and most importantly, no need to pay to participate in development of it. Patrons will get some extra perks, it's only fair, but I'm here for everyone, not a select few.
