Lilitales had a great story, so i decided to check out lilipalace.

The game starts out much weaker, you're thrown in a labyrinth with no story. Loot chests, attack enemy, use heal item.

However, the real dealbreaker for me is on second floor there is an illusion corridor that gets you stuck unable to move any directions, effectively bricking your game and forcing you to reload an earlier save, in my case that was 15 minutes ago, and i did not feel like going through 15 minutes of that same tedious labyrinth, as at this point the game did not show me enough incentive to make me continue, in storyline or content.

I wanted to experience the Lilipalace and Lilitales story-lines before viewing the Lilitales OAV. Expected a 1 star game but got a 2 star game as the art is decent for a 2011 VN. You will have to force yourself to lose to see some scenes. Not the worst H dungeon crawler I've ever played. tricky last boss. 3+ hours gameplay with weird post-game endless dungeon.

    Some of the Themes:
It's incredibly good, the average quality of the art and game assets is in no way reflective of the extremely high quality of the writing/translation, inventive sex scenarios, and fun but a little repetitive game play. The sexual scenarios have a huge variate way beyond simple "lose and get r*ped scenarios" This ended up being one of the H games I felt compelled to finish and enjoyed throughout. The characters and story are compelling as well.

The only real downside is if you play too well there is no way to go back and see scenes, so don't try too hard to beat a boss on your first encounter. THey are usually hard enough or have unique tricky mechanics that make it hard to beat on the first try, but it did happen to me once.

Gee this sure is a good game, it's just too bad it's porn and kinda hard to get off to.

    ART:
The art is competent, if a bit generic. If you've seen the screenshots, you're not in for any surprises.

    GAMEPLAY:
This is a decent dungeon crawler... but it's not very good as porn. I appreciate the fact that you can beat the game "with no level grinding..." is what I'd like to say, except that's only half true. Once you get to the 4th/5th floor down, you'll realize that the same enemies who were a pushover on the 2nd floor now have ridiculously high stats and come in groups, so if you haven't fought every available lower level (technically higher level since you're descending, but whatever) enemy and gotten all available spells and equipment, there will likely be fights you just can't beat unless you get really lucky - which is another problem.
This game doesn't have random encounters. It has fixed encounters so once you've beaten a certain enemy it just will never show up again. So, it's not so much that you can beat the game without grinding, but that you can't level grind beyond a certain point.
I like this but it causes incredible frustration when the standard RPGM mechanics rely heavily on RNG to determine how well a character performs. This is a fixed event, but whether or not the "Defend" function completely stops damage for a massive counterattack or only slightly muffles damage making you feel like you wasted your turn, that's up to the toss of a coin. Loot is also entirely fixed, so if you thought it would be a good idea to use a Heal Drop in anything but the most dire situation, you may as well start the whole game over. This is just a lot of undue stress.
As for how gameplay affects the XXX aspects, well it's unfortunately one of those games that plays like a bog-standard game, except the main character gets raped in graphic detail when you hit a failure condition, so it's not a porn game as much as a game where porn happens to you if you play poorly.
When I started writing this review I thought the gameplay was actually the best part of the game, but I've since turned on it.

    STORY:
The story takes a while to get going at the start with some linear cutscenes that could have at least been playable to make you feel like you're going at your own pace, but instead strings you along with no player input for five to ten minutes depending on how fast you read.
There's a weird castle that appeared out of nowhere and it's probably cursed or something. Your character is sent to investigate and you see a mysterious girl who runs away from you and you fall down a hole into the dungeon, only then are you given control over the character.
Nothing remotely sexy happens during this opening, and I get the impression there won't be any sex scenes at all outside of the defeat conditions. Either way, I'm not playing more of this game to find out.

I really started this review thinking better of the game than I do now. I suppose it doesn't deserve a "poor" rating because it is very high in quality? EDIT: I've since changed my mind on that.
Well, if the gameplay style interests you I would recommend (recommendation censored due to a silly anti-marketing rule) which does have random encounters and require level grinding, but at least you can see some XXX content without hitting a Game Over immediately after.
