it's not that the dev notes hint at an epic tale or revolutionary gameplay mechanics here, but oh boy is this game bad.

pretty sure that you coud finish the game within an hour, mostly ignoring the 5 or 6 different normal enemy types and the chests scattered around, leaving you with 8 "boss fights" in total. everything is very linear, the areas small, and there are neither choices inside or outside of combat.
for the most part combat is pretty much all double strike spam (unless you get grabbed and need to struggle out). all other attack options (for most of the game) are inferior and you simply fully heal between fights. there are also no status effects at all, no gear to equip, and potions are only needed for the last couple fights... or they woud be needed if the game didn't give you an attack at level 20 that just oneshots everything, completly trivializing the little bit of gameplay that there was.

Just so people are aware, there is a save folder that has a save file for slot 16 that gives you a replay room.

i didnt fight any nonboss character and still beat the game
